Sparkling transparent lantern
Let’s make cute, sparkly skeleton lanterns together with the kids.
First, prepare two clear plastic cups and stuff them with transparent origami paper.
Using a variety of colors will make the finished lanterns vibrant.
Next, align the rims of the cups and secure them with tape.
Then, decorate the outside of the cups with stickers, such as stars.
Finally, attach black paper bands to the top and bottom.
If you’re working with two-year-olds, it’s a fun idea to plan which steps to let the children handle.
silky beach

Summer-themed art projects and activities not only let children enjoy the season, they also nurture their imagination! Let’s try expressing a beach atmosphere through art to boost those summer vibes.
Kids can color freely on construction paper shaped like a beach umbrella, or tear tissue paper to resemble beach sand and glue it onto paper.
With their free ideas, what kind of beach will they create? Both children and teachers will be excited to find out.
It would also be lovely to display the children’s drawings or photos under the umbrella!
Vivid Fireworks Made with Straws

Let’s have fun making fireworks with straw stamps.
To make the stamp, cut several slits into one end of a straw and flare them outward.
Give the kids some paint to dip the stamp into, then have them dab it onto black construction paper.
Just pressing it creates shapes that really look like fireworks.
Overlapping looks beautiful too, so prepare paints in various colors and let them express fireworks freely.
Once finished, you can hang them on the wall and enjoy a little fireworks viewing.
Rainbow shaved ice

How about making rainbow shaved ice that’s perfect for a summer festival pretend play? First, crumple some newspaper and stuff it into a paper cup.
Place a coffee filter over the top, shape it, and secure it with tape.
Prepare several colors of paint thinned with water.
Use a straw or brush to pick up the paint and drip it onto the coffee filter.
If you dilute the paint with plenty of water, it will bleed beautifully.
Once the coffee filter is colored, it’s done! If you’re planning to play pretend, it might be a good idea to have extra materials ready so you can make several.
Sparkly Fish Made from Paper Plates

Making sparkly fish out of paper plates is a great idea for summer.
First, cut holographic origami paper into small pieces with single straight cuts.
Since these will become the fish’s scales, choose pieces that look pretty.
Next, fold a paper plate in half and glue on the cut pieces.
Then add the eyes and mouth—use construction paper or draw them with crayons, depending on what works best for your class.
For the final touch, the teacher should punch a hole near the tail, thread through some curling ribbon, and tie it.
You’ll have a cute fish that can stand up for display.
Drawing with colored ice

Here’s a perfect ice-painting activity for hot summer days.
First, draw a picture on drawing paper with a white crayon.
We recommend adding summer themes like sea creatures, fireworks, or sunflowers to set the mood.
Next, mix food coloring with water and pour it into an ice tray to make colorful ice.
Insert a popsicle stick into each compartment before freezing so you’ll have a handle to hold while painting.
Once the ice is ready, use the colorful ice to paint over the paper where you drew.
As the ice melts, the paper will take on color and the white drawing will appear.
Kids can enjoy the excitement of wondering, “What picture will appear?” Since you’re using food coloring, it’s an easy and safe activity for young children to try.

[Aluminum Foil] Ocean Motif
Let’s make shiny shells and fish using aluminum foil.
First, stick aluminum foil onto construction paper, then cut out shell and fish shapes with scissors.
Put them into a bag, add a little bit of about three different colors of paint, and seal it.
Now you’re ready! Have the children spread the paint over the shapes by pressing and rubbing the bag with their hands and fingers.
Once the paint has spread all over, take the pieces out of the bag and use a cotton swab to draw eyes and scale patterns.
You can’t do this step once the paint dries, so be sure to do it before it dries.
Painting both sides and hanging them as decorations is also a cute idea.
