Perfect for summer! Watermelon

When you think of summer, you think of watermelon! Let’s make a summer watermelon out of origami.
Prepare one sheet of origami paper and a felt-tip pen.
Fold the paper in half, then fold up the four corners slightly.
Fold the sections between the corners.
Flip it over and slightly fold the corners again.
Fold the paper in half so that the colored side shows, and your delicious watermelon is complete.
Draw the seeds with the felt-tip pen to finish your tasty-looking watermelon! It might also be fun to use different colors of origami paper to make a colorful variety of watermelons.
Shaved ice you can make with a single sheet of origami paper

Perfect for three-year-olds! Here’s an idea for making shaved ice using just one sheet of origami paper.
In summer, colorful shaved ice lines the shops and festival stands—it’s so icy-cold that you can’t help craving it on hot days.
This time, let’s make that shaved ice with a single sheet of origami.
All you need is one sheet of origami paper in your favorite color and a pair of scissors.
The key is to use the scissors to cut it so it looks like syrup is poured over the ice! This is where kids’ individuality will really shine through in their creations.
Give it a try!

Cute morning glory

Let’s make colorful and cute morning glories out of origami that bloom cheerfully under the summer sun.
First, fold the origami paper in half into a square twice, then unfold it.
Next, fold all four corners toward the center, flip it over, and slightly fold in the four corners.
Flip it over again, and for each loose corner, make two diagonal folds so it forms a peak; after doing this for all four corners, open the paper.
Finally, turn the paper over, and fold the four corners you just peaked toward the center along the creases, and you’re done.
Try making lots in different colors and decorating with them!
Spinning paper toy

You’ll definitely get hooked watching it spin around and around! First, cut a 4 cm × 15 cm sheet of origami paper lengthwise into three long strips.
Fold each strip in half at the center.
Start by crossing two strips at a right angle, then thread the remaining strip through the loop created where the first two intersect at a right angle.
Pull all the ends tight to secure them, adjust the shape, and it’s done! Just drop it, and it will spin as it falls.
Try dropping it from different heights and have fun!
yacht

Something to make in summer! Here are some yacht craft ideas.
A yacht is a boat that moves forward by catching the wind with its sails.
Even if you haven’t seen one in real life, they often appear in picture books and anime.
How about making a yacht that evokes the sea and enjoying a summer craft? All you need is a single sheet of origami paper.
The folding method is simple and easy to follow, so once you get the hang of it, kids should be able to finish it on their own.
Use origami in your favorite colors or patterns to create your own original yacht!
Quick and cute! Sunflower origami

This is an easy sunflower made with 7.5 cm square origami paper and 4 cm square origami paper.
Fold the larger sheet in half horizontally twice, then fold all four corners toward the center.
From the center, fold each corner back at the 2 cm mark and turn it over.
For the smaller sheet, fold it twice to make a triangle, then fold the corners toward the center.
Unfold, and make small folds toward the creases you just made.
Fold the remaining three corners the same way, then stick it onto the center of the larger piece.
Draw a face or sunflower patterns to finish.
It’s very simple, so it’s perfect as a recreational activity for young children up to seniors.
