[For 0-year-olds] Cute sports day themes: Ideas to make the event more fun
We’re introducing sports day themes perfect for 0-year-old classes, such as “picture books,” “nursery rhymes,” “anime,” and “vehicles”! For 0-year-olds, it’s still difficult to do activities all together like the older classes.
If you’re looking for ideas that babies can enjoy and that parents will love, creating a cohesive “world” or theme is probably the best approach.
Simply giving a theme to activities like crawling races, circuits, and parent-child interaction games will turn them into memorable, super fun times.
We also recommend dressing the children in costumes that match the theme!

[0-year-olds] Cute sports day themes. Ideas to make sports day fun (1–10)
The Daruma doll
Here’s a game that incorporates the wildly popular children’s book series “Daruma-san.” Enlarge and copy the Daruma character from the picture book, paste it onto cardboard, and make a Daruma that can be rolled.
Players roll their Daruma along, and whoever reaches the goal first wins.
Since they get to roll a character they love, kids are sure to be thrilled.
Because it’s round, keeping it rolling straight can be a bit tricky, but try encouraging them and taking it slow.
Super Mario
Super Mario Bros.
is beloved by both parents and children.
How about a competition that incorporates its world? Participants wear a Mario or Luigi hat and start by rolling a die.
Based on the picture shown on the die, they choose a course—like breaking a block or crawling through a tunnel.
It would be fun to include twists, such as allowing a player to head straight for the finish without doing anything if they roll “Invincible.” At the end, the child is picked up by their guardian at the finish line, and once they touch the coin, they’re done.

♬ Athletic meet, comedy, cheerful brass scallop(1224127) – Yuuki Hirose
This is a game that could be called a Pokémon version of a cavalry battle.
Parents give their child a piggyback while the child wears their favorite Pokémon character on their head and aims for the opponent’s Pokémon character.
That said, since we’re talking about infants, it might be better to have the teacher do the running and let the children take their favorite characters.
It could be fun if the kids wear Poké Balls on their heads to set the mood.
Prepare lots of Pokémon and let the children catch them!

all over each other; stuck together; clingy

Here’s a recommended game for small children called “Hittsuki Mottsuki.” It’s a game where the host calls out a body part, and the parent and child touch those parts together.
It promotes physical bonding and helps children learn the names of body parts, so it’s a two-for-one activity.
You can also vary how you stick together—press tightly on purpose, touch lightly, or connect cautiously—to make it a more stimulating sensory experience.
It’s fun, so please give it a try.
It might be even more enjoyable if you play it with children dressed in mochi costumes!
sea

This is a game where you pretend to be a big whale and dive into the sea.
Since the children are small, have them jump from a safe, low height onto a mattress that represents the ocean.
To make it a bit more complex as a competition, you could place cardboard fish on the “water,” have the kids grab one, and then run to the finish line as a fun extra.
By incorporating movements they already practice at the preschool into the event naturally, both the spectators and the participants can feel safe and enjoy themselves.
Mickey Mouse

Disney’s Mickey Mouse is famous as an adorable character beloved even by preschoolers.
By simply combining the background music of the equally popular “Mickey Mouse March” with the idea of wearing Mickey’s ear headbands, you can easily create the world of Mickey Mouse.
After that, you can have the children walk to the lively rhythm of the march, try a simple dance, or arrange various activities and games in different ways—making it easy to incorporate and highly recommended!
Uber Eats

Hold hands with a guardian dressed up as an Uber Eats courier and deliver delicious food! No hill or staircase is too tough.
Be careful not to fall off the path and go pick up the ordered food.
You can carry it in a backpack, or deliver it as is.
Once you deliver the food, you’ve reached the goal.
If there’s someone at the goal to receive the food, you might be able to work even harder on your delivery.
Wishing you a fun and exciting sports day!
