Milord is a classic chanson with a light and bright rhythm that lifts your spirits.
The lyrics were written by Georges Moustaki, the music composed by Marguerite Monnot, and it became a huge hit when the queen of chanson, Édith Piaf, released it in 1959.
The Whirlwind of Life (Whirlwind)Vanessa paradis

The charming, lullaby-like song “Le Tourbillon de la Vie” (The Whirlwind of Life) is a chanson that became famous when the great French actress Jeanne Moreau sang it in the 1962 French film Jules and Jim, and it has been covered by many artists.

It’s irreparable (separation)Nino Ferrer

“C’est irréparable: Farewell,” written and performed by French singer Nino Ferrer, was released in 1963.
In 1965, Italian singer Mina covered the song and it became a huge hit, which in turn drew attention to Nino Ferrer, the original artist, and led to the song becoming a major hit in a kind of reverse import.
It is a classic masterpiece.

The beautifully melancholic and wistful melody “Dans mon île” (On My Island) is a masterpiece written, composed, and sung by the French chanson singer Henri Salvador in 1957.
Listening to this song inspired Antonio Carlos Jobim, leading to the birth of bossa nova.
Though it is a chanson, it became the progenitor of bossa nova.

Sofia Bryla’s refined, refreshingly cool, and crystal-clear voice brings a cover of “The History of Love” that feels fresh and wonderfully moving.
The song, originally released in 1972, became a major hit by French singer Michel Fugain.
In Japan, it was a big hit under the title “Mr.
Summer Time,” performed by Circus.
