Fun to Dance! Recommended Dance Songs for Preschoolers for Daycare and Sports Festivals (61–70)
Chara the World

The ending song of NHK’s show “Otoppe,” called “Charra the World.” It has a cute choreography where two people pair up, clap hands, and wiggle their hips, so isn’t it perfect for younger children? The lyrics are a bit quirky, but the tune is bright and well-known, so it’s a great recommendation for a school performance!
GaoGao All-Star

“Gao Gao All-Stars” is a song that was used as the ending theme for the anime Pokémon XY.
The dance isn’t very difficult because you step along to a slow tempo.
The hand movements are super cute! There are poses in the middle, too, so even younger kids can enjoy dancing to it.
I, the Animal Samurai!

A fun dance for kids to enjoy: “Sessha! Animal Samurai.” You can just picture the happy faces of children as they excitedly learn the choreography and perform it.
Since they dance with toy swords, it’s a track that boys especially love.
Even children who aren’t confident at dancing can have fun by practicing while looking for their favorite animals that appear in the song.
It’s perfect for kindergarten and nursery school sports days, as well as for recital performances!
Karada Dandan

The exercise segment is one of the most popular parts of NHK’s program “Okaasan to Issho.” Since April 2019, when the exercise hosts were replaced, the song changed from “Bunbaborn” to “Karada☆Dandan.” The lyrics were written by manga artist Sensha Yoshida.
It might seem like an odd match, but the lyrics are really fun! While you dance, you can pretend to be all kinds of creatures—like sea animals and dinosaurs—and have a great time.
Kuwagata Ondo

Beetles like stag beetles and rhinoceros beetles are always a huge hit with kids every summer.
Keropons and Ryozo Fukuda’s song “Kuwagata Ondo” brings that to mind as they sing and dance.
Compared to typical ondo songs, the “Gashi-gashi” part about bugs is especially appealing to children.
I hope everyone dances to this together in a cool indoor space and blows away the summer heat.
Sea Dance

“Umi Dance” is a song that explains marine environmental issues in an easy-to-understand way.
The X-and-O style dance is simple and approachable for children, but the detailed choreography in the chorus may be difficult for younger preschoolers.
Since there are tongue-twister-like lyrics, it’s a dance song recommended for older preschoolers.
Mickey Mouse March

When it comes to classic Disney songs, it has to be the ‘Mickey Mouse March’! Mickey has always been hugely popular, past and present, and this song is a staple for children’s performances.
It was originally used as the opening theme for a show called ‘The Mickey Mouse Club,’ which aired on ABC in the United States.
The tune is bright and cute, so even little kids who can’t quite manage full choreography can dance adorably to it.
