Gift box ornament

We’ll make a box using one 15 cm sheet of origami and one slightly smaller sheet whose edges have been cut on two sides.
Fold both sheets using the same steps and combine them to create a single gift box.
First, make a zabuton fold with the origami, then fold it into thirds by overlapping the top and bottom.
Once the creases are set, open it up and fold the left and right edges the same way to create creases.
Return the paper to its original shape and use the creases to form the box.
After the box is made, use colored hole-pattern origami to add a ribbon, attach a string so it can be hung as an ornament, and you’re done.
Christmas swag

When it comes to stylish wall decorations, a swag is a great choice.
This time, we’re sharing an idea for a Christmas swag made with fir as the base.
Layer Japanese cedar (Satsuma-sugi) over the fir, bind them with wire, then add a ribbon on top and decorate with your favorite accents.
Instead of tying the ribbon directly, it’s recommended to make a decorative bow first and secure it with wire.
The look of the swag will change depending on the plants and embellishments you use, so start by imagining the style you want and gather the parts accordingly.
A hot glue gun is handy for attaching items.
Christmas frame

Let’s use items from a 100-yen shop to make a Christmas frame that works as a decoration or a gift.
Cut thick paper to fit the frame and cover it with a simple solid-colored fabric.
On top of that, use cinnamon and green moss to create a tree design.
First, glue on the cinnamon for the trunk, then apply glue in the shape of a tree and press on green moss mixed with glue—highly recommended! Decorate the tree with star anise and nuts, and attach small present parts at the base.
Add the words “Merry Christmas” to the bottom of the frame, and finish by attaching silver snowflake pieces.
Santa paper fan

A classic wall decoration! How about arranging a paper fan into a Santa design? Prepare two rectangular sheets of construction paper and fold both into accordions.
Overlap and connect the ends, then tie the center with thread while the accordion is still folded.
Next, spread and glue the ends of the accordion to form a circular paper fan.
Make Santa Claus’s face from thick paper, attach it to the paper fan, and you’re done.
You can download a Santa Claus illustration for a fee, so feel free to use it if you want to save time.
Christmas ornaments made with soft clay

Here are some ideas for Christmas decorations that are fun because you can make your favorite parts out of clay and add your own personal touches.
Roll out the clay, press a round cutter with glue applied to the inside onto it, and remove the excess clay around the outside.
Leave the clay inside the cutter as is, and paste a piece of patterned paper you like on top of the clay.
Wrap a thin rope of clay around the edge of the cutter to form a border, and the base is complete.
Next, use clay to make any parts you like—such as Santa Claus, boots, or holly leaves—and attach them to the base.
Add a ribbon to the top of the form, and it’s done.
Finish it off with a Christmas design that’s uniquely you.
Pom-pom tree

Here’s a simple craft idea: stack pom-pom wreaths to make a tree.
First, thread decorative balls onto floral wire, form a loop, and make a wreath.
Create four wreaths using different numbers of decorative balls: 9, 7, 5, and 3.
Make a cone base out of origami or construction paper, then slide the four wreaths onto the cone from largest to smallest.
Thread one decorative ball onto a U-shaped bent wire, insert it into the top of the base, and your tree is complete.
Decorate with stars or any parts you like.
Yarn Pom-Pom Wreath

Let’s make a cozy pom-pom wreath.
You’ll need to make 10 pom-poms for this, so I recommend using a pom-pom maker.
Use thick yarn and wrap it about 100 times to create pom-poms roughly 5 cm in diameter.
Once you have 10, clamp them onto an embroidery hoop and arrange them in a circle.
Attach Christmas flake stickers on top of the pom-poms, and you’re done.
White yarn is recommended to evoke the look of snow, but if you switch the stickers to simpler accents, Christmas colors would work nicely too.
