[Easy to Imitate] Comedian Impressions: Crowd-Pleasing Party Acts and Skits (71–80)
Hitoshi Matsumoto

There are many impressionists who imitate Hitoshi Matsumoto from Downtown, but the leading ones are JP and Kazuto Matsumoto.
If you’re copying his appearance, short bleached hair, a muscular build, and a tight white T-shirt are essential.
For voice and mannerisms, JP is a great model.
When you chuckle, turn your back and laugh in small bursts; sprinkle in his catchphrase-like lines such as “It’s all about tension and release,” and throw in a big, surprised “Ehhhhhh” to give it that Matsumoto feel.
Above all, I recommend it to those who can speak natural Osaka dialect!
Kimimaro Ayanokoji

Speaking of Kimimaro Ayanokoji, it’s all about the three-piece set: suit, wig, and folding fan! Once you’ve got the set ready, try doing an impression! The key is sharp-tongued humor that’s warm and full of laughter, not mean-spirited insults.
Pay attention to vocal projection and facial angles as you grasp the essentials.
Hoi Kenta

Hoikenta, who has had a long career as an impressionist entertainer, is best known for his impersonations of Sanma Akashiya.
Recently, though, a different side of him drew attention on the variety show “Chidori no Oni Renchan.” When he performed T.M.Revolution’s “HIGH PRESSURE” at karaoke, his distinctive vocal techniques—like the memorable “karada guu”—really stood out, so it’s recommended to focus on recreating that aspect.
As seen in his Chris Peppler impression, his naturally low and beautiful voice is also a charm point, so leveraging that to create contrast could work well too.
3 o’clock heroine

It can be a bit challenging for women to imitate comedians, right? There are far fewer female comedians than male ones, and many perform in duos.
If you have a group of three women, how about trying a routine by 3ji no Heroine (The 3 O’Clock Heroines)? They won THE W, the 2019 No.1 female comedian contest, and even recently they’ve been in high demand on TV—you often see them on comedy and variety shows.
Their signature is “relatable situations unique to women,” and their material makes people of any gender go, “Exactly!” It’s sure to get laughs with familiar, down-to-earth scenarios!
Yasue of the Unknown Unknown

We highly recommend Miki Yasue’s signature rapid-fire, sharp-tongued act from Yoshimoto Shinkigeki! One thing to keep in mind: for people who don’t know Yoshimoto Shinkigeki, it might just come off as scary, like you’re yelling.
So we suggest first setting the vibe of Yoshimoto Shinkigeki before doing the impression.
It might also work better if you create a bigger contrast with the final punchline to enhance the comedic effect.
Lani Nose

Lani Nose, who won the 2019 “Uta Neta King Championship,” saw their popularity skyrocket.
Even before forming their comedy duo—and still today—they’ve been active as a band, and both members have proven musical talent.
Their skits are funny, of course, but their singing and guitar skills make them a duo with plenty to watch.
How about perfectly copying one of their musical comedy bits? Especially at celebratory events, a musical routine played on the guitar can really liven things up.
They’re a highly recommended duo that offers both laughs and musicality.
Hiroshi

Speaking of self-deprecating humor, you all know this guy: Hiroshi.
These days, he’s also thriving on YouTube with high-quality camping videos.
Let’s practice performing one of Hiroshi’s routines! The style is to slump a little in a suit and mumble self-deprecating lines, sharing stories of sad or disappointing experiences.
Go ahead and unveil your own past sorrows and cringey “dark history” here—everyone’s got one or two of those, right? Let’s turn those gloomy bits into laughs and set them free!
