Hiroyuki Sawano, also known as nZk, has worked on numerous anime songs.
The unit formed by him and singer Laco is SawanoHiroyuki[nZk]:Laco.
They also garnered attention for handling the opening theme of the anime Fate/strange Fake -Whispers of Dawn-.
Their track, FAKEit, lyrically captures the worldview of the anime, where characters engage in battles.
It’s a remarkably stylish song.
GONGWANIMA

How about some punk rock that fires you up with the feeling, “I’m going to charge toward the future too!”? This is a track by WANIMA, a three-piece band from Kumamoto Prefecture, included on their fifth single “Summer Trap!!” released in 2019.
It was chosen as the theme song for the anime film One Piece: Stampede, based on the beloved national manga.
Its biggest draw is the powerful sound—WANIMA’s energy comes at you directly.
The lyrics, which exude strong will, are blazing hot as well.
It’s also a great song to listen to when you’re feeling down.
Danger DangerFZMZ

This track is striking for its heavy sound and lyrics that sing of confronting danger and change.
Released by FZMZ in January 2024, it was selected as the opening theme for the second cour of the anime Shangri-La Frontier.
Its blend of rock and hip-hop perfectly matches the series’ worldview, where light and darkness intertwine.
The repeated phrases seem to symbolize a resolve to fight, setting your heart ablaze.
It’s the perfect song for those who want to experience the mindset of an adventurer pushing their limits.
Listen to it, and it will surely awaken the courage within you.
MUKANJYOSurvive Said The Prophet

This is a 2019 release by the five-piece band Survive Said The Prophet.
It was used as the opening theme for Makoto Yukimura’s Vinland Saga.
Their unconventional, unique worldview really resonates.
Rather than simply labeling it rock, it feels more fitting to call it “SabaPro rock”—a cool track that defines their style.
Also, pay attention to vocalist Yosh’s powerful, almost screaming delivery!

FIRE BIRDŌhira Shunya

It’s a fiery anime song that I especially want junior and senior high school students devoted to their clubs to hear! Sung by Shunya Ohira, who’s active as an actor and singer, it was released on an EP in 2021.
It was chosen as the opening theme for the anime Burning Kabaddi, which is based on the India-born sport of kabaddi.
