A masterpiece by The Cro-Magnons. Recommended songs (1–10)
Con artist rockZa Kuromaniyonzu

The 15th single “Con Artist Rock,” released in 2016.
A staple at live shows and festivals, it’s a killer rock tune that takes the excitement to the max.
From Hiroto Kōmoto’s masterfully played, insanely good blues harp in the intro to the beat, the guitars, and the melody—everything just rips and oozes cool.
It’s a track that lets you revel in the blazing rock of Japan’s punk legends, who never seem to lose their edge—in fact, it might just make you think they’re sharper than ever right now!
Speed and KnifeZa Kuromaniyonzu

The 5th single, “Speed and Knife,” released in the summer of 2008.
From the title alone, many probably imagined razor-sharp, hard-hitting punk.
But the track itself is an irresistibly upbeat number with a bouncy, British rock feel! The rousing sing-along that erupts at festivals is practically this song’s calling card, and even with its slower tempo, it gets the crowd fired up live.
Ferocious eight-beat punk is fantastic, of course, but I bet plenty of fans love songs like this even more!
Number one punk!Za Kuromaniyonzu

The ultimate straight-ahead, high-speed punk rock! It’s called “Number One Guy!”—the Cro-Magnons’ 9th single, released in 2011.
It’s been widely used in sports settings, including as the theme song for a Hiroshima Carp TV program and as a supporters’ chant for J.League’s Kawasaki Frontale.
No wonder: with its unstoppable momentum, lucky title, and perfect call-and-response for a fight song, it’s an ideal anthem.
The lyrics, sung with an indomitable spirit, are dramatic—making it a track not only for sports, but for anyone giving their all day after day.
The Cro-Magnons’ classic songs. Recommended tracks (11–20)
BO Chille (riot)Za Kuromaniyonzu

The 19th single, “Bo-doh Child (BO CHILE),” released in November 2020.
Over a snappy snare, Hiroto Kōmoto unleashes a long blues harp solo.
From an intro so satisfying you wish it could go on forever, it bursts into lyrics, melody, and beats worthy of the bold title.
Kōmoto’s performance—aggressive and punk to a degree unbelievable for someone who was 57 at the time of release—commands admiration.
It’s an energetic track by The Cro-Magnons that, in the best sense, refuses to “evolve.”
Glycerin QueenZa Kuromaniyonzu

The sixth single, “Glycerin Queen,” marks their first release in about a year since the previous one.
The title is taken from “Glycerin Queen” by Suzi Quatro, a pioneering female rock singer who was active in the 1960s.
The song is a fast eighth-note beat, a punk rock sound characteristic of The Cro-Magnons.
Yet it’s not just intense—it also carries a certain sense of loneliness.
I hope you’ll immerse yourself in the world of the lyrics and enjoy it to the fullest.
Hiroto Kōmoto’s vocals really sink into the heart.
Giri-giri Gagan-ganZa Kuromaniyonzu

Following 1st “Tally-Ho” and 2nd “Paper Airplane,” The Cro-Magnons have released three singles in about a year.
Just like its title “Giri Giri Ga Gan Gan,” this is a fiercely energetic, rough-and-ready punk number.
You might not fully get what’s going on, but forget the complicated stuff—this track simply makes you feel great, with a sense of invincibility.
It’s a punk song that can turn an already great day into something even better! Definitely one to blast loud on a sunny day!
left openZa Kuromaniyonzu

This song, Hirakippanashi, which was used in a commercial for Kao’s Attack Neo, is included as the seventh track on their fifth album Oi! Um bobo, released in November 2010.
It’s a short piece of about two and a half minutes, but it’s packed with lyric phrasings characteristic of Masatoshi Mashima and the aggressive, hard-hitting stance typical of The Cro-Magnons.
Since it was used in a commercial, many people have likely heard it, making it quite a popular track.
