A classic song by The Cro-Magnons. Recommended track.
The Cro-Magnons is a rock band formed around Hiroto Kōmoto and Masatoshi Mashima, also known from THE BLUE HEARTS and THE HIGH-LOWS.
Carrying on the same straightforward rock ’n’ roll sound from the THE BLUE HEARTS era, their music is passionate and catchy.
In 2019, they drew attention by performing the theme song for the hit drama “Mr.
Hiiragi’s Homeroom (3-nen A-gumi: Ima kara Minasan wa, Hitojichi desu).” In this article, we’ll carefully select and introduce some of their most popular tracks.

The Cro-Magnons’ classic songs. Recommended tracks (31–40)
I can get as far as a kiss.Za Kuromaniyonzu

The 13th single, “Kisu made Ikeru,” released in 2014, has a sweet-and-sour, vibrantly youthful title.
While the title might make your heart skip a beat, the song itself is a mid-tempo, euphoric rock tune.
It’s a track that colors youth—something I’d love young listeners to hear, of course—but it’s also perfect for adults to reminisce about those days.
Where is the goal we aimed for back then now? As you listen to the lyrics, certain feelings and scenes are sure to come back to life.
crane gameZa Kuromaniyonzu

Simple yet powerful backing, and lyrics that are strikingly metaphorical and impactful.
This is the 18th single, “Crane Game,” released in the summer of 2019.
In its rhythmic quirks and lyrical angle, you can feel a new side of The Cro-Magnons.
Written and composed by Masatoshi Mashima, the interplay between guitar and rhythm is a pleasure to hear and perfect for learning and playing along.
It’s a catchy number that will stick in your head after just one listen!
streamlinedZa Kuromaniyonzu

The 8th single of 2011 is a double A-side single, with compositions by Masatoshi Mashima and Hiroto Kōmoto respectively.
One of them is “Ryūsengata,” composed by Masatoshi Mashima.
Unusually for a single, the song begins with a minor chord.
Its lonely, dry atmosphere makes sense, as it’s performed with acoustic guitar and tambourine, and together with a country-tinged bass, it creates a distinctive mood.
It’s a track that carries a sense of nostalgia, and the lyrics—like regaining the heart of a boy—seem to embody their unchanging brand of punk.
BO Chille (riot)Za Kuromaniyonzu

The 19th single, “Bo-doh Child (BO CHILE),” released in November 2020.
Over a snappy snare, Hiroto Kōmoto unleashes a long blues harp solo.
From an intro so satisfying you wish it could go on forever, it bursts into lyrics, melody, and beats worthy of the bold title.
Kōmoto’s performance—aggressive and punk to a degree unbelievable for someone who was 57 at the time of release—commands admiration.
It’s an energetic track by The Cro-Magnons that, in the best sense, refuses to “evolve.”
Charge RockZa Kuromaniyonzu

Tokugeki Rock, the band’s 11th single released in 2012, served as the opening theme for the TV anime NARUTO Shippuden.
It was The Cro-Magnons’ first song tied to an anime.
With its fierce eight-beat rhythm and distorted electric guitars, it’s a cool rock track featuring their signature arrangement.
The simple, catchy chorus—somewhat reminiscent of the Ramones—is powerful and satisfying, making it a quintessential Cro-Magnons song.
