A roundup of unusual transformable guitars from around the world (21–30)
Blade Runner

The modified guitar with holes in the body and head used in Aerosmith and RUN DMC’s “Walk This Way” music video is the Guild Blade Runner.
It’s a design that puts an extra twist on the already popular unconventional shapes of the 1980s.
Mermaid Guitar

This is the Mermaid Guitar, crafted by acoustic guitar maker Andy Manson, which astonished the world.
The guitar’s body is the full figure of a mermaid, nearly human-sized—and what’s amazing is that it can actually be played properly.
Moderne

When it comes to the originators of radical-shaped guitars, Gibson’s Flying V and Explorer come to mind, but there was actually another guitar designed at the same time.
That was the Moderne, and even today it has a very distinctive shape.
The prevailing belief is that it ultimately wasn’t produced at the time, but it was in fact released by Gibson in the 1980s.
Warrior

Among Jackson’s many unconventional guitars—starting with the asymmetrical Randy V shape—the Warrior stands out with a particularly distinctive design.
While it’s a shape popular with metal guitarists, its unique vibe comes from relying less on straight lines and more on flowing curves.
Flame Sword Rathalos Guitar

This is the result of a collaboration between ESP and Monster Hunter: a guitar designed after the Blaze Sword Rathalos, one of the iconic weapons from the Monster Hunter series.
It was made to order for a limited time from 2014 to 2015.
The price? A staggering 2.3 million yen!
