dramaticthe peggies

The peggies, a girls’ trio who regrettably went on hiatus in 2022.
Many of you probably spent your youthful days alongside the music of these artists who blazed through the 2010s.
Their songs—backed by solid musicianship and taste, and infused with a modern sensibility that goes beyond the confines of a rock band—are all top-tier, and they gained popularity, even being chosen for tie-in songs with hit anime.
Today, I’d like to introduce Dramatic, included on their second major-label album, The GARDEN.
With its supple, danceable rhythm, stylish chord progressions, lyrics that lift your spirits, a melody that resonates in the heart, and a voice with a firm core—powerful yet cute—it’s a truly superb killer tune.
Perfect as BGM for a drive with someone you love—don’t miss it!
Dreamy Journeythe peggies

the peggies, a three-piece girls’ band that announced an indefinite hiatus as of September 30, 2022.
Their 1st single, “Dreamy Journey,” was chosen as the ending theme for the TV anime BORUTO: NARUTO NEXT GENERATIONS.
With a brisk arrangement carrying a cute vocal, it’s brimming with a refreshing energy that makes it perfect even as entertainment for year-end and New Year parties.
It’s a catchy rock tune with a light, snappy ensemble and memorable chorus that makes you want to sing along.
Every momentthe shes gone

The band the shes gone, whose motto is “We hope to be close to your everyday life.” Among the tracks on their 2023 mini-album HEART is this breakup song that somehow feels wonderfully uplifting: “Every Moment.” Depending on the listener, the lyrics can be interpreted as either having moved on—“The you I believed in is gone; no matter how much I keep thinking about you, there’s nothing I can do”—or as still lingering with regret.
Either way, it might be one of those songs whose meaning shifts with each person who hears it.
And to set such bittersweetness to a melody that feels this good—what a formidable band the shes gone is!
DoUw-inds.

Marking their 20th anniversary of activity in 2020, w-inds.
kicked off the new year with the release of DoU.
The song was entirely produced—lyrics, composition, and arrangement—by the main vocalist, Keita Tachibana, and you can really feel his strong artistic vision throughout.
Be sure to check out the music video too; it’s captivating and makes you feel like you’re watching a film!
dolphin kickwotaku

It’s an upbeat summer tune that bursts open like a big, blooming flower! The song is by Vocaloid producer wotaku and was released in 2022.
If you’re familiar with wotaku’s work, you might have been surprised when you heard it—since they’ve released so many dark tracks, who would’ve thought they could nail such a cute summer song too? I’m in awe of their wide-ranging songwriting skills.
That said, the hardcore interlude is classic wotaku.
It’s the kind of track that’ll hype you up anytime, not just in summer!

I stop caringyonige

yonige is a two-piece band from Neyagawa, Osaka, formed in 2013.
The members are Arisa Ushimaru on vocals and guitar, and Gokkin on bass and backing vocals.
When they first formed, they had a drummer and were a three-piece.
Their music video for Avocado drew attention, and they made their major-label debut in 2017.
Many of you may have heard Waraou, used in the au Santaro commercial series.
They have songs that make you want to relax and listen in your room, and others you’ll want to play while watching the scenery outside, with a stylish vibe as well.
Amid their easy-on-the-ears sound, the lyrics have a way of piercing the heart, and the dreamy atmosphere is wonderful too!
Dr. Copy¿?

This song features an unforgettable, earworm melody laced with satire about modern society.
Released on December 31, 2023, it sparked widespread buzz.
It depicts the “plagiarists” who churn out counterfeits and imitations, and the audience as “slaves” who consume them, sharply criticizing commercialism in the music industry.
It also touches on lives saved by idols and stars, as well as dreams that were cut short.
A must-listen for those who want to savor the swirling emotions beneath its powerful sound.
A work that shines with the talent of shimon—also known as ¿?—and delivers a scathing message to society.
