[2026] Practice Songs for Beginner Drummers: Easy and Cool Recommended Tracks (41–50)
Hey JudeThe Beatles

The Beatles’ “Hey Jude” is a universally beloved classic, but drums at about this slow tempo are actually very difficult.
If you try playing along with a metronome, you may find the tempo creeping a bit fast, or conversely, dragging and falling slightly behind—it can be surprisingly hard to keep steady time.
In addition to practicing to play fast songs, learning to play slow songs steadily is also an important exercise for beginners.
Are you gonna be my girlJet

One of the signature songs by the Australian rock band Jet—a track you’ve almost certainly heard somewhere.
It has a classic “THE rock ’n’ roll!!” vibe, making it especially recommended if you like that kind of feel.
While the guitar riff is striking and stands out, the drum beat closely follows the bass line, giving the rhythm section a tight, satisfying cohesion.
Since the song features frequent breaks, make sure the band locks in together precisely, and practice to convey that driving, rock ’n’ roll sense of speed.
Setagaya Love Storyback number

Back Number’s Setagaya Love Story features an impressive opening phrase with ride cymbal on the offbeats.
It’s a great song for beginner drummers because you can practice various rhythm patterns.
A key point to note is the marching-style roll in the second verse’s B section—lock in the rhythm with the sticking R R R L L.
In the latter half, there’s a phrase combining open hi-hat with toms, so it’s best to break it down in your head and learn it step by step.
Right before the climax, there’s a spot where the drums stop cleanly; be careful with the fill there so the rhythm doesn’t wobble!
Boys and girls,pākāzu

“Shonen Shoujo” is a fast-paced, youth-filled track released by Parkers in 2024.
Centered on the season of farewells and new encounters, its lyrics impressively capture feelings toward the past and hopes for the future.
Riding a straightforward rhythm, it cheers on young people moving straight toward tomorrow.
It’s a song you’ll especially want those starting a new chapter in life to hear.
Try practicing the dynamics carefully from the A verse to the B verse, and then into the chorus!
rainbowELLEGARDEN

ELLEGARDEN’s songs are a must for beginner drummers! They’re cool, super popular, and yet the drum parts are easy!! There are quite a few songs like that.
Among them, the mid‑tempo “Niji” is especially recommended.
Once you can play an 8-beat, you can cover most of the song! After that, just practice the fill-ins at the transitions between sections and you’re good to go.
You don’t have to play the fills exactly like the original—practice them bit by bit in your own way! Also, there’s a break where all parts stop sharply together, so practice that repeatedly until you can line it up perfectly.
Demachiyanagi Parallel UniverseASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION

ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION’s “Demachiyanagi Parallel Universe” is perfect for beginner drummers to practice.
The main groove is a simple 8-beat, so focus on keeping the tempo steady.
During the guitar solo, you can practice playing the ride cymbal.
Also, the fill that uses sextuplets partway through may be challenging.
Start at a slow tempo, gradually increase your speed, and practice connecting the whole piece—if you do that, you’re sure to nail it!
I’ll walk home.Saitō Kazuyoshi

This bright, classic rock ’n’ roll-style track is one of Kazuyoshi Saito’s signature songs, and it’s remained popular in the J-pop scene for many years.
The overall bouncy rhythm throughout gives it an uplifting feel when you play it.
The drum beat is relatively simple, so it’s approachable even for beginner drummers.
However, the beat does change a bit in the latter half of the song, so you’ll need to practice that section thoroughly.
In the original recording, the tambourine is quite prominent, which can make the drums a little hard to hear.
In that case, I recommend checking out drum cover videos on YouTube.
