Toyosu Market

The Tsukiji Market had been in operation for 83 years, but the facilities had grown old and space had become limited. As a result, in 2001 it was decided that the market would be relocated to Toyosu in Koto Ward.

Center-gai (Center Street)

Shibuya Center-gai is located right in front of Shibuya Station, across the scramble crossing. It refers to the main street, called “Main Street,” which runs west from the Hachiko Exit of Shibuya Station between Inokashira-dori and Bunkamura-dori.

The largest park in Tokyo is Mizumoto Park, a Tokyo Metropolitan park located in Katsushika Ward. It covers a vast area of approximately 96.3 hectares and is known for its rich natural scenery.

Kanda Matsuri (Kanda Festival)

The Kanda Festival, one of Japan’s three major festivals, is held at Kanda Myojin Shrine in Tokyo. It began in the Edo period and is still enjoyed by many people today. In particular, in odd-numbered years the main festival is held, offering a chance to see the festivities in all their splendor.

Tokyo Tower

The official name of Japan’s radio tower is “Tokyo Tower.” Completed in 1958, it has long been cherished both as a symbol of Tokyo and as a radio tower. Tokyo Skytree is a different tower that was built much later.

Haneda Airport

Narita International Airport is located in Narita City, Chiba Prefecture, and Itami Airport is located in Osaka Prefecture. The airport located within Tokyo is Haneda Airport (official name: Tokyo International Airport), which operates numerous international as well as domestic flights.
