Eurobeat is a genre that gained popularity as a mainstream form of dance music in the 1980s.

This time, we’re introducing some classic Eurobeat tracks!

A song said to be one of the most memorable tracks in the Dance Dance Revolution video game series.

Smile.dk is a Danish band whose members are from Sweden.

Thanks to the success of Dance Dance Revolution, they became known not only in Japan and Hong Kong, but also across Europe and the United States.

Meet My FriendEddy Huntington

This is a track marked by Eddy Huntington’s gentle vocals.

It’s a song from over 20 years ago, around the time I first discovered Eurobeat.

I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s reminded of those days when I listen to this song.

A song written by Jeff Dean and produced by Waterman and Barry Evangeli.

Can’t Live Without Your LoveSuzy

Can't Live Without Your LoveSuzy

This is an early Eurobeat classic that makes you feel a major Eurobeat boom is just about to arrive.

There’s still a bit of Eurobeat and techno getting mixed together, but that’s precisely what characterizes early Eurobeat tracks.

It even evokes a bit of Ann Lewis.

Barbie GirlAQUA

Aqua – Barbie Girl (Official Music Video)

The lyrics sound catchy and meaningless, but they carry a message objecting to excessive sexual appeal in society.

Although Aqua is considered a one-hit wonder in the United States, they achieved commercial success in Europe, especially in Denmark and Sweden.

After reaching No.

1 with their debut single “Roses Are Red,” they followed “Barbie Girl” in the UK with two more hits: “Doctor Jones” and “Turn Back Time.”

Toy BoySinitta

Speaking of Sinitta, I think this song is definitely her most famous.

Of course, she has many other excellent tracks, but when it comes to Sinitta, it’s got to be Toy Boy.

No matter when you listen to it, its irrepressible brightness lifts your spirits—one of the defining traits that ran through early Eurobeat as a whole.

Alessandra Mirka Gatti, an Italian artist affectionately known as Domino, gained popularity in Italy, the hotbed of Eurobeat, and was active in the 1990s.

Her song “Tora Tora Tora” is one of her hits, released in 1994.

Two years later, in 1996, the dance-vocal group MAX covered it, which helped it become popular in Japan as well.
