I’ve worked in a variety of roles—regardless of pro or amateur settings—including live event PA, cameraman for video and photography, restaurant staff, and logistics center staff. I now spend my days as a part-time writer. I’ve contributed to music and manga websites with feature/review articles, and wrote the liner notes included as a bonus for 1st PLACE Inc.’s “IA SUPER BEST.” As for my music background, I started playing guitar in junior high and focused on band activities during my school years. For over 15 years since then, up to the present, I’ve continued releasing original tracks as a Vocaloid producer. My areas of expertise are Japanese rock, Vocaloid, and manga.

There are truly countless songs in the VOCALOID scene, but in this article, I’ve put together a selection of especially stylish tracks.

Of course, “stylish” means different things to different people, so I’ve tried to choose from a wide range of genres without drawing sharp boundaries.

An extremely artistic song that turns the very concept of “VOCALOID” into music and visuals.

Multi-creator Mou Ishida’s “Hajimete no I” was released in February 2024 and was submitted to the Rookie Rankings of Vocacolle 2024 Winter.

It’s so meticulously crafted that it makes you wonder, “How can someone create a work like this?”—to the point that you’ll find yourself curious about Mou Ishida’s background.

It’s a highly artistic number that delivers an overwhelming rush of stimulation to both your hearing and sight.

This might be a Vocaloid track that goes beyond even a “new musical experience.”

It’s a unique mixture dance-rock tune that stirs you by directly touching the feelings deep in your chest—calling to mind an inner landscape of the heart.

The track is by Vocaloid producer Sohbana, released in March 2023, and it placed 9th in the Bokakore 2023 Spring TOP 100 rankings.

The witty word choices in the lyrics heighten anticipation, making you wonder, “What phrase will come next?” The compatibility with the calmly tempered sound is outstanding.

It feels like the inorganic and the organic are exquisitely blended together.

Isn’t “sophistication” the perfect word for a piece like this? Ume ni Uguisu by the Vocaloid producer r-906 was released in February 2024.

It’s a cool electronic tune whose melodic lines carry a distinctly Japanese flavor.

The sound arrangement is razor-sharp, yet somehow imbued with a sense of weightless drift—that paradox is fascinating.

Give it a listen when you want to feel the changing of the seasons, or when you’re longing for warmer weather.

This track fuses an addictive melody with brooding emotions.

It’s a song by Nuyuri featuring v4 flower, included on the album “ACT7” released in September 2024, with the music video premiering in November of the same year.

The lyrics, which portray consumerism and loneliness in modern society, are striking.

Coupled with a sound that incorporates elements of electro swing, it resonates deeply with listeners.

It feels as though the image of modern people chasing self-gratification is vividly projected.

It’s that refined of a work.

Another hallmark is the duet-like vocal approach sung by IA and Ine himself.
