Heart mini bag

Usable for Valentine’s Day ☺️❤️ #shorts
Heart mini bag

Let’s make a heart-shaped mini bag for Valentine’s Day to hold and give a small gift.

Fold the origami paper in half both ways to make a cross-shaped crease, then unfold.

Fold the bottom edge up to the center line and turn it over.

Place it so that the section you just folded is on the left.

Fold down the top-left and bottom-left corners into triangles, then turn it over again.

On the right side, fold both the top and bottom edges toward the center line.

Fold the top-right and bottom-right corners into triangles as well, and place it with the folded sections facing up.

Fold the whole piece in half, tuck it into the lower pocket, then open the top and shape it into a heart.

Make two of these, glue them together, attach a pipe cleaner as the handle, and you’re done! Threading beads onto the pipe cleaner makes it even cuter.

Easy! Long-tailed Tit Origami

Adorably round! The long-tailed tit known as the Shima-enaga, a wild bird native to Hokkaido.

In recent years, we often see goods and items featuring its cute appearance as a motif.

Here’s an idea to make a Shima-enaga using a single sheet of origami paper, plus a pen and glue.

Once you’ve folded the creases, the base is done.

Making the wings and tail seems like something you could enjoy while teaching and learning together with friends or teachers! It could be fun to give it a smiling expression, too.

If you display the finished pieces lined up on a branch, like real Shima-enaga keeping warm together, both kids and adults are sure to feel soothed.

Chocolate Disco – Perfume

Let’s fold a cute heart that’s perfect for Valentine’s Day! First, fold the paper into a triangle twice to create a cross-shaped crease, then unfold.

Fold the top corner down toward the center, and fold the bottom corner up to meet the crease you just made.

Fold the left and right sides up toward the center line, then flip it over.

Finally, tuck the corners inward—and you’re done! The steps are simple, so it looks adorable even if you change the size of the origami paper.

Make a garland with hearts in various sizes or hang them as dangling decorations to brighten up your room!

Oni bean holder

Let’s make a demon-themed container for Setsubun beans! First, fold a tulip by folding the paper into a triangle twice.

Once that’s done, fold both the left and right sides inward along the crease lines.

Next, for the demon’s pointed horns, leave a small gap in the center and fold both sides inward.

Take the two flappy horn layers and fold them up together; tuck one layer inside as is, and fold the other into an accordion to make the demon’s bangs.

Finally, fold the bottom part, draw the demon’s face, open it up, and you’re done.

It holds lots of beans, so do your best warding off the ogre!

snowman

We’ll show you how to fold a snowman with a cute hat.

First, fold the origami paper in half into a square twice, with the white side facing out.

Unfold one step back, place the rectangle vertically, then fold it up from the bottom so that the center crease is offset by about 1 cm.

Fold the left and right corners inward, flip it over, and fold all five corners inward except the top-left one.

Flip it back, and fold just the top layer of the remaining corner into a triangle—this will reveal a cute hat! Finally, draw the face with round stickers or a pen, and you’re done! It’s also adorable to make many of them and hang them up as decorations.

daikon (Japanese white radish)

daikon (Japanese white radish)

Daikon radishes are sweet and delicious when eaten in February.

Let’s make this seasonal daikon with origami! First, prepare a sheet of white origami paper, fold it in half to make a rectangle, crease well, and open it.

Next, fold the top and bottom edges toward the center crease.

For the two right-side corners, fold each into an upper and lower triangle toward the center line.

For the two left-side corners, fold them into triangles slightly smaller than the right side.

This completes the daikon root.

For the leaves, take green origami paper, fold it into a triangle twice, then unfold one step.

Place it so the triangle’s point faces downward, and fold both sides up toward the center line.

Flip it over and fold both sides toward the center line again to finish.

Insert the leaves into the daikon root, and your tasty daikon is complete!

Here’s a fun origami idea where hearts pop out.

Prepare one sheet of origami paper, fold it in half vertically and horizontally to make a cross crease, then open it.

Fold the top and bottom edges toward the center line and open them again.

Next, align the bottom edge with the nearest crease line, press lightly at the center to make a small mark.

Do the same at the top to make another mark.

Pinch the two marks from the top and bottom, and—surprise!—it transforms into a heart shape.

Fold it in half and you’ll get two pop-out hearts—such a cute origami design.

Try making it for Valentine’s Day!
