Until the sun risessarasa

Sarasa offers a music experience like no other.
She’s a rising singer-songwriter who creates songs with a mysterious vibe that’s neither ballad nor pop.
In fact, her sound seems to be a unique distillation of blues elements.
It’s soothing and gentle, yet somehow warm—please give this intriguing feeling a try.
I should also add that she’s active in multiple fields, including working as a buyer for an apparel brand and as a writer.
First loveOku Hanako

Singer-songwriter Hanako Oku, known for her trademark red glasses and translucent, pure vocals.
Even before her major-label debut, she wrote, composed, and sang numerous commercial jingles.
Her fourth single, “Garnet,” was selected as the theme song for an animated film and went on to become a long-selling hit, showcasing her versatility across fields.
She is also known for valuing closeness with her fans—continuing street performances since her indie days and still performing free live shows.
After resuming activities in 2022, she is an artist whose continued success is highly anticipated.
I can’t sayiri

If you’re looking for a cool, badass female singer-songwriter who can masterfully deliver stylish tracks, I absolutely recommend iri.
Many of her songs show strong influences from Black music like hip-hop and R&B.
She also has a distinctive voice with rich lower and mid registers that can hold its own against those grooves.
While she clearly stands apart from other female singers in Japan, she still offers the approachable, easy-to-listen quality characteristic of J-pop, making her a very accessible artist.
So Addictiverei

Rei creates pop songs with a refined feel.
This is the solo project of Reina Washio.
She’s a former member of E-girls and is known for her outstanding vocal ability.
News of her solo debut spread quickly.
Why not start by checking out her buzzworthy tracks, including those chosen as TV drama theme songs? Her performance on THE FIRST TAKE is also a must-see.
fragileEvery Little Thing

Since their 1996 debut, Every Little Thing has produced numerous songs rooted in pop and rock.
The duo consists of Kaori Mochida, whose vocals have a soft, gentle quality, and Ichiro Ito, who is also active on variety shows.
They scored major hits with ballads like “Time goes by” and “fragile,” and have continued to create warm, soothing tracks that bring comfort to the heart.
Their relaxed vibe and easygoing charm are part of their appeal.
They are a group that delivers music closely attuned to people’s hearts, often themed around love and life.
If I Could Be Honest feat. SpontaniaJUJU

A female singer who set her sights on jazz at age 12, moved to the United States alone at 18, and went on to make her major-label debut.
Not only does she have a distinctive musical sensibility shaped by absorbing New York sounds like jazz, R&B, hip-hop, and soul, but her sharp talk skills and stylish image—running her own brand, among other ventures—have earned her strong support, especially among young women.
In addition to original songs, she has released many cover albums, and her impeccable song selection has won her a broad base of listeners who are already familiar with the tracks, further highlighting her talent.
If you haven’t heard her sing yet, be sure to give her music a listen.
I long to see you now.MISIA

When it comes to the queen of Japanese R&B, isn’t MISIA the first name that comes to mind? Her ultra-high whistle voice—said to span five octaves—is a weapon uniquely her own that no one can imitate.
With signature songs like “Tsutsumi Komu Yō ni…” and “Ai no Katachi,” she reached massive success with “Everything,” released in 2000, which sold over two million copies.
She even closed out NHK’s Kōhaku Uta Gassen in 2020, and we can’t take our eyes off her continued achievements!
