Founded in 1944 as the Kochi Prefectural Women’s Medical College, the school has since developed into a comprehensive university. The campus festival, the “Momiji Festival,” held annually at the end of October, is packed with a variety of events, including comedy shows, stage performances, a Miss Contest, and a Mister Contest.
It is held every October at Kochi University of Technology in Kami City, Kochi Prefecture. The university festival also goes by the name “Flying Fish Festival,” which was chosen by students through a public call for suggestions. The name comes from the student song “Flying Fish,” written and composed by singer Shinji Tanimura. Held simultaneously with local festivals, it enlivens the entire community.
