Mysterious Candy Shop Zenitendo

Create a world and perform it! Here are some ideas inspired by The Mysterious Candy Shop Zenitendō.
Hugely popular from children’s novels to anime and film, The Mysterious Candy Shop Zenitendō is known for its thrilling, heart-pounding stories and distinctive worldbuilding centered on sweets.
The characters are unique, of course, but focusing on the worldbuilding above all might be the key to creating a wonderful play.
Adding clever twists within the story will likely capture the audience’s attention.
Be sure to give it a try!
Fork bending

Fork-bending magic is sure to amaze your audience.
The visual impact is outstanding, and if you pull it off, you’re guaranteed a round of applause.
But actually, it’s not about brute force.
The key is cleverly using the lever principle.
With practice, you can create a moment so astonishing it looks like you’re using psychic powers.
Using a soft, store-bought fork makes practice easier, so it’s recommended.
Why not master this trick and captivate the crowd on stage at your school festival?
Magic that holds the lower body

This trick packs a heavy punch—so much so that it’s nothing but impact: a magic act where the upper and lower body appear to split apart.
If you happen to catch it unexpectedly, it’s scream-worthy; even usually calm people can’t help but shriek (lol).
The method is that the upper part of the lower body—the torso area—is a prop, and the real legs are underneath, with the performer’s body bent at an extremely awkward angle, more than a simple V-shape.
It’s a trick that can only be shown from the front, because seeing it from the side or back would give it away.
A magic trick where a string passes through a ring

In magic, the important thing is dispelling the suspicion that “Wasn’t it set up from the start?” If you borrow a personal item from someone in the audience and perform the trick, that doubt won’t arise, and their astonishment will be greater! This trick is an easy one that only requires a single piece of string.
You borrow a ring from someone present, thread your string through the ring, and in the next moment the string seems to pass straight through the ring.
The string really does go through the ring at first, but before the apparent penetration, you cleverly slip it out with the hand holding the ring, and from there you only make it look as if it’s still threaded through.
String Magic

This is a magic trick where, when you grip a knot in a rope with your hand and move it, the knot appears to slide along the rope and eventually come off the rope entirely.
By keeping a firm grip, it looks as if you’re gradually pushing the knot along with strength.
The key is how you tie the rope: use a knot that will come undone when pulled.
That’s what sells both the illusion of applied force and the movement of the knot.
You should also secretly hold a separate knot in your hand beforehand, and make it look as similar as possible to the knot on the rope.
That resemblance is crucial to making it appear as though the knot has come off the rope.
A magic trick where a card jumps (from one place to another)

It’s a magic trick where a card that was once placed on the table is returned to the deck, then secretly transferred into a small group of cards on the spectator’s side.
The magician appears to return the card face down between face-up cards, and at the signal, the “gap” seems to close, enhancing the mystery visually.
The key lies in card-handling techniques: by the time the spectator’s cards are placed, the previously tabled card has already been secretly added.
It combines fine sleight-of-hand such as turning over multiple cards while appearing to flip just one, and using a pinky catch to shift cards—an effect built from a blend of subtle techniques.
Caramel Instant Appearance

It’s a magic trick where you close an apparently empty caramel box and give a signal, then when you open it again, caramels have appeared inside.
The inner box is double-layered: when showing it empty, you don’t move the box containing the caramels; instead, you slide the lower stacked section to display the empty state.
Next, by moving the section with the caramels at the same time, it looks as if the caramels have appeared.
The key point is the angle when showing it empty—make sure to present it so the hidden inner box isn’t noticed.
If you also prove that the caramels that appear are real, it will feel even more mysterious.
