The Kizuna Festival at Yamazaki University of Animal Nursing is held every autumn at the Minami-Osawa campus in Hachioji. As you’d expect from a university focused on animal nursing, there are events like dog shows and dog walking. There’s also a dog café, and visitors can bring their dogs. The mobile petting zoo is especially popular.

Sakurarin Festival | Gakushuin UniversitySat 11/1–Mon 11/3, Tokyo

Gakushuin University traces its origins to an educational institution for court nobles established in Kyoto at the end of the Edo period. The Ōrinsai, held every autumn, received its name at the 45th iteration. It was so named to reflect the university’s dignified yet steadfast school spirit—like the cherry tree, Gakushuin’s emblem, which stands solid and majestic.
