Tokyo Cultural Festival Calendar: University and Junior College Festival Schedule [2026]

Drawn in by the savory aromas of the food stalls and finding yourself captivated by the stage performances, the campus is filled with a special festival energy that excites not only students but everyone who visits.

One of the unique joys of school festivals is getting to enjoy the distinctive events and decorations that reflect each university’s character.

Seiyusai | Meisei UniversitySat 11/1–Mon 11/3, Tokyo

Seiyu Festival is the university festival held at Meisei University’s Hino Campus. Many students participate as groups, independently running food stalls, exhibitions, and performances. In addition, committee-planned events and guests from outside the university help make the festival even more exciting.

Tachibana Festival | Rissho University (Shinagawa Campus)Sat 11/1–Sun 11/2, Tokyo Metropolis

This is a school festival held at Rissho University’s Shinagawa Campus in Shinagawa, Tokyo. You can enjoy artist live performances, hero shows, and more. In recent years, talk shows by YouTubers have also been held. It’s a festival you’ll want to enjoy along with the Seisousai, the school festival at the Kumagaya Campus in Saitama Prefecture.

Kitasato Festival | Kitasato University (Sagamihara Campus)Sat 11/1–Sun 11/2, Tokyo Metropolis

Kitasato University, located in Shirokane, Minato City, Tokyo, is a private university established in 1962. The school festivals are held in November: the Shirokane Festival at the Shirokane Campus, the Koyo Festival at the Towada Campus, and the Uonuma Festival at the Niigata Campus. In addition to food stalls and presentations, there are also performances by comedians and concerts by popular singers.

Fuji Garden Festival | Tokyo Women's College of Physical EducationSat 11/1–Sun 11/2, Tokyo Metropolis

Founded in 1902 as the Private Tokyo Women’s Gymnastics School, this institution was established as Japan’s first place to train female physical education instructors. The annual school festival, the Fujiensai held every November, is a major event unique to this school, featuring sports competitions and attracting many participants from the local community.
