Kichijoji Music FestivalMay 3 (Sun) – 5 (Tue), Tokyo

At the Spar Stage in front of Kichijoji Station, free live shows are held, and various performances take place at Inokashira Park and Musashino Public Hall. In addition, independently organized events at individual shops around Kichijoji and the Kichion Contest are held, making the entire town of Kichijoji overflow with music throughout the period.

HUG ROCK FESTIVALThursday, May 7, Tokyo

HUG ROCK FESTIVAL is a circuit-style event held across multiple venues. It’s organized by Teppei Hagu, a former comedian known as “the man who dedicated his life to female singer-songwriters.” As such, a key feature of this festival is that it’s exclusively for female artists. Additionally, they’re running a popular campaign each time where the first 300 female attendees can enter for free.

OKINAWA FES MilafefeSat 5/16 – Sun 5/17, Tokyo

Yoyogi Park is transforming into Okinawa! An immersive outdoor festival will let you feel like you’ve traveled to the islands. On the music stage, artists with ties to Okinawa will fire up the crowd. Join the Okinawa Open-Air Classroom to learn about Okinawan culture in a participatory, lesson-style format, and if you master the Kachāshī dance, you’ll enjoy the live performances even more. You can snack on Okinawan dishes and drinks from over 40 vendors, and even pick up souvenirs normally only available locally. At the experience booth, you can try on traditional Okinawan attire and take photos—perfect for commemorative shots with kids or your dog. We highly recommend joining with the whole family!
