Audio tracks from a popular battle MC. Dungeon monsters make an appearance too!

A roundup of tracks from popular battle MCs!

Do you listen to tracks by battle MCs?

People used to say, “Battle MCs have bad studio tracks.”

But that’s a thing of the past.

The quality of battle MCs’ tracks has skyrocketed!

This time, we’ve gathered tracks from Dungeon’s monsters and regulars from UMB and Sengoku.

And of course, we’re not just picking famous songs.

We’ve selected dope, cool tracks—so if you’re into freestyle, be sure to read till the end!

Kill mi BrotherJUMBO MAATCH

It’s not hip-hop, but since we’re talking monsters, I picked JUMBO MAATCH! JUMBO is a deejay legend—his vibes are just insane.

This track, “Kill mi Brother,” was used in his clash with NG HEAD and was the first kill tune exchanged between them.

It’s seriously cool.

There are other kill tune exchanges besides this one, so definitely check those out too!

The Don of Shinjuku, Kan a.k.a.

GAMI.

He can be pretty inconsistent in battles, but his recorded tracks are insanely cool.

It’s not exactly hardcore, but it gives off a seriously thug vibe.

His track “Skimming” is one of his classics—stylish production paired with lyrics that capture Shinjuku’s wild side.

The beat is honestly amazing, so give it a listen.

It matches his voice perfectly!

Having made their major debut, Creepy Nuts have become known beyond just the heads.

They’re the strongest battle MC and the strongest DJ, yet surprisingly, many of their songs are quite catchy.

They’ve produced a lot of hit tracks.

Among them, my top recommendation is Abazure.

This song has a jazz-inflected finish, with a melody reminiscent of bands like Tsubakiya Shijuusou or EGO-WRAPPIN’.

Even if you’re not into four-on-the-floor beats, I think you’ll like it!

I’ll do it.wannyūdō

Rennyuudou, the strongest yokai repping Chiba Prefecture.

He won B-BOY PARK 2014 and then went on to take nine titles in a single year—truly top tier among battle MCs.

He’s also well-known as a second-generation Monster on Freestyle Dungeon.

Despite his tough look, his battles often carry a surprising amount of respect.

Rather than just throwing disses, he tends to answer his opponent’s shots with lines like, “Then I’ll become an even better man.” His recorded tracks also let his gentle character shine through and are super catchy.

“Ore wa Yaru” is a manly track that brings Hannya to mind! Definitely check it out!

CHECK YOUR MIC REMIX Shinpeita feat. MC Nigari a.k.a. Red Lightning, R-Shitei (Creepy Nuts), Hannya & DJ AKAKABE
Check Your MicShinpeita

Shinpeita, a rapper who’s been killing it on YouTube lately.

He’s announced his retirement, but then he pops back up in battles, so it’s kind of hard to know what’s going on.

As a head, though, I’m happy to see Shinpeita—one of the strongest out there—in action (lol).

Among his tracks, the one I especially recommend is ‘Check Your Mic.’ It’s straight-up hip-hop, with satisfying rhymes and a tight, no-frills, steady flow that really stands out.

Grateful DaysGadoro

Grateful DaysGadoro

GADORO is a rapper with top-tier skills among battle MCs.

He’s now focused on releasing tracks, so we don’t see him in the battle scene anymore, but even today, whenever people debate the strongest battle MCs, he’s always ranked near the top and remains hugely popular.

One of his signature songs is “Grateful Days.” Many of GADORO’s tracks feel like a push on the back, and this one portrays his own life clawing his way up from rock bottom.

Just listening to it fills you with courage and motivation.

MC Nigari is a rapper in his early twenties with standout, exceptional talent.

Honestly, I’d put him among the strongest in battles.

His comebacks, internal rhymes, end rhymes, flow, voice—there’s not a single weak point, and he’s also pretty resilient against disses.

I liked his older, fiery style, but the way he now seems to win almost offhand is a great look for him too.

His classic track “Konbanwa” is especially memorable: an old-school-style beat that evokes ’90s Japanese rap, paired with a flow brimming with passionate vibes.
