Drawing #2 – Spring LightPorunogurafiti
This is the second entry in the sketch series included on the 2nd album “foo?”, created around the time when Haruichi’s father passed away.
The depiction in the lyrics of the fragility of life and the inevitable parting is sorrowful, but the way it tries, through honest grief, to keep looking forward is inspiring and gives me courage.
DreamerPorunogurafiti

“Dreamer” is a song that portrays a moment when feelings for a loved one overflow so profoundly they even appear in dreams.
Created by the genre-defying music unit Porno Graffitti, it was included on their 2005 album THUMPχ.
The lyrics depict a love that tries to do in dreams what cannot be fulfilled in reality, unfolding images that are tinged with a certain sensuality.
Accompanied by a lively band performance that incorporates kazoo playing, Akihito Okano’s emotional vocals resound in this love song.
Yokohama LilyPorunogurafiti

“Yokohama Lily” is one of the songs included on Porno Graffitti’s original 2006 album “m-CABI.” Set in Yokohama, it tells the story of a man and a woman.
The use of the sitar, a traditional instrument originating in India, also leaves a strong impression.
Oh! RivalPorunogurafiti

Their 42nd single served as the theme song for the feature-length anime Detective Conan: Sunflowers of Inferno.
As their first single of 2015, it forms part of a three-single series themed around “Look,” “Listen,” and “Sing.” In Porno Graffitti’s signature Spanish-influenced style, the song seems to suggest that living without making waves isn’t everything.
Haneuma RiderPorunogurafiti

Selected for a Pocari Sweat commercial for the first time in six years since “Saudade,” with their 20th single.
With an up-tempo, fast-paced sound, it’s a perfect song for summer.
It’s also a track that gets the whole venue hyped at live shows, with everyone waving towels in unison.
Notably, every song on this single is cleverly titled to end with the word “Rider,” showcasing a fine attention to detail.
In conclusion
Have you found a favorite track? There are so many different charms, aren’t there? Porno’s lyrics sometimes weave in English, but here the Japanese really stands out, making the words sink in even deeper.
The warm yet fleeting lyrics feel both sentimental and happy.
They make you want to listen closely.
I hope you find a song that stays close to your everyday life!
