Salt painting

Sparkling fun! How to make salt paintings [Nursery/Kindergarten]
Salt painting

This is a kid-friendly craft that uses salt—usually a seasoning—as the main material.

Use white glue to draw lines on construction paper, then sprinkle salt over the paper.

Drop or brush on watercolor paint diluted with water over the salt to create a cute, translucent effect.

You can use regular glue instead of white (wood) glue, but white glue is recommended because it gives the finished picture more dimension.

It’s a fun, child-friendly project that shows how everyday items can become art depending on how you use them—definitely worth a try.

Halloween Eco Bag

[Halloween Craft] Super Easy with a Plastic Bottle! How to Make a Candy Bag [Ashitaba Channel]
Halloween Eco Bag

Let’s make a Halloween bag using a plastic bottle.

Prepare a 2-liter bottle.

We’ll use the bottom part for the bag, so cut it to your preferred height.

Protect the cut edge with tape, then make two holes on opposite sides along the rim.

Cut black construction paper to match the height of the bottle and place it inside the bottle so it lines the sides.

Create parts like ghosts and pumpkins out of construction paper, and insert them between the bottle and the black paper.

Thread a string through the holes, and your bag is complete! Have the children help with making the parts and decorating the bag.

Halloween paper fan

[Halloween Origami] How to Make a Halloween Paper Fan – Origami Halloween
Halloween paper fan

Why not try making a Halloween-themed paper fan, a classic decoration for parties? Divide a standard sheet of origami paper into four equal parts and use three pieces folded in an accordion style.

If dividing into quarters feels like too much work, you can save time by using smaller-sized origami paper.

Any steps involving scissors or a craft knife should always be done by an adult.

You can have the kids do the accordion folding, and let an adult assemble the pieces into a paper fan! Decorate them with Halloween motifs—orange for a jack-o’-lantern, black for a black cat or bat, and white for a mummy—to enjoy a festive look.

Halloween yo-yo

A Halloween Yo-Yo you can play with 🎃
Halloween yo-yo

Would you like to make and play with a Halloween-themed yo-yo? First, crumple some newspaper into the size you want for your yo-yo, then wrap it with orange origami paper.

Glue it so it doesn’t come off, and put it in a plastic bag.

Shape the bag to fit the newspaper inside and secure it with tape.

After closing the opening, wrap green origami paper around it and glue it.

Then have an adult tie a rubber band around it.

Add eyes, a nose, and a mouth made from construction paper, and your pumpkin yo-yo is complete! Try making different motifs, too.

Halloween wreath

[Halloween Craft] Easy Spiderweb Wreath Tutorial (for ages 2–5)
Halloween wreath

A Halloween-themed wreath made with a paper plate is a simple decoration that can liven up any party.

By cutting a paper plate into a donut shape and sticking on torn pieces of origami paper, you can create a one-of-a-kind wreath.

For younger children, they can just do the pasting; for slightly older kids, adding a spiderweb made of thread to the paper plate makes it even more Halloween-like.

However, steps that involve tools—such as cutting out the plate or attaching ribbons—should be prepared by an adult in advance to keep the craft running smoothly, so please give them a hand.

Halloween Fukuwarai

[Kindergarten/Daycare] Try Decalcomania! October Halloween Pumpkin Funny-Face Art & Craft
Halloween Fukuwarai

Let’s make a Halloween “fukuwarai” using a technique called decalcomania.

Cut construction paper into a pumpkin shape, then fold it in half.

Open the paper, place paint in colors you like on one inside half, and fold it in half again.

Press firmly, then open it—the paint has transferred to the other side, creating a symmetrical pattern.

Attach a pumpkin stem made from green construction paper and a triangular hat made from origami to finish the base.

Finally, cut out the pumpkin’s facial features from black construction paper.

As a booth activity for a Halloween event, making a larger version could be a big hit!

Here’s a 3D Halloween pumpkin made using a toilet paper roll.

First, cut the toilet paper roll in half across the middle.

Then cut a sheet of origami paper in half, apply glue, and wrap it around the halved roll.

Use the wrapped roll either vertically or horizontally, and cut out eyes, nose, and mouth from black construction paper to stick on.

Finally, attach a 3D pumpkin stem on top.

Placing it in your entryway, bathroom, or on a bookshelf will instantly give a Halloween vibe.

It’s easy, so give it a try!
