Apple bobbing

When it comes to classic Halloween games, “apple bobbing” is a staple.
You float apples in water and try to grab them with your mouth without using your hands.
Compete to see how many apples you can get within the time limit.
Smaller apples are handy, but regular-sized ones are fine if you don’t have small ones.
It’s hard to bite into the flesh, so try aiming for the stem to grab and pull it out.
Apples are heavy, so be careful not to drop them midway and have to start over.
Eyeball Carrying Game

Let me introduce the “Eyeball Relay Game,” where ping-pong balls stand in for eyeballs! All you need are small plastic buckets, ping-pong balls, and plastic spoons.
It’s an easy Halloween game kids can enjoy.
Players balance a ping-pong ball on a spoon, run, and compete to see how many they can carry to the buckets.
It might be easier if you decide the number of balls to transport beforehand.
Decorating the buckets with faces and drawing eyeball designs on the ping-pong balls while preparing with the kids will boost the Halloween spirit even more!
Ghost paper cup fishing

Get the party started at your Halloween bash! Here’s a fun “ghost paper cup fishing” game.
Adorable ghosts “fish up” characters like Frankenstein and Jack-o’-Lanterns in this unique activity.
You’ll need paper cups, an awl, wrapping wire, pens, white fabric, scissors, straws, magnets, and more.
If you make it so that the Halloween-themed paper cups contain candy inside when they’re fished up, the kids are sure to be thrilled.
Give it a try!

Puzzle Game

How about a “puzzle game” for your Halloween party that lets all the kids work together and get excited? If you make a handmade puzzle featuring Halloween-themed illustrations, the kids will be thrilled! Children in their Halloween costumes can team up to complete the puzzle.
If you cut the puzzle into larger pieces rather than small, intricate ones, it will be easy and fun for kids to play.
As they fit the pieces together, they can enjoy the anticipation of discovering the picture while experiencing a sense of accomplishment—perfect for an indoor game.
Halloween Memory

How about a handmade game called “Halloween Memory” for your Halloween party? In short, it’s a Halloween-themed version of Concentration.
Draw Halloween motifs like ghosts, black cats, jack-o’-lanterns, and Frankenstein on construction paper to make cards.
Be sure to make two cards for each design.
In a daycare or kindergarten, you could even have the kids make them! The rule is just like Concentration: you get the cards when you match the same design.
Since it tests your memory, adults can enjoy it too.
Pumpkin Fukuwarai

Let’s take fukuwarai, a classic New Year’s game, and give it a Halloween twist! First, cut orange construction paper into the shape of a pumpkin.
Next, cut out the facial parts of a jack-o’-lantern from other sheets of paper—now you’re ready to play! Blindfold the player, then have the others hand them the parts one by one so they can complete the pumpkin’s jack-o’-lantern face.
The person who makes the neatest face wins.
Whether it turns out perfect or not, it’s a game everyone can laugh at and enjoy together.
Drive out the ghost!

Let’s enjoy a game of chasing away ghosts using plastic bottle caps.
First, prepare several caps and draw ghost faces on them.
You’ll also need a separate cap to flick; make sure it’s clearly different from the ghost caps, such as by using a different color.
Use tape to mark a rectangular field on a table, and place the ghost caps inside it.
When the game starts, players take turns flicking the shooter cap with a finger to hit the ghost caps and knock them out of the field.
The player who drives out the most ghosts wins.
