Pumpkin shorts made with 100-yen store felt

Here’s an idea for making pumpkin-style shorts using felt from a 100-yen shop.
In this method, you cut the pieces by dividing the shorts into left and right sides, then attach them at the crotch at the end.
You’ll need a sewing machine, but since it’s just a matter of cutting and doing a few quick stitches, it’s very easy.
If you want to make Mickey-style shorts, try using red felt for the shorts, white for the button parts, and black to make a tail.
If the costume will only be worn for one day, buying a ready-made one can feel wasteful, so please use this idea as a reference.
How to make an origami headband

Let’s try making Mickey and Minnie headbands out of origami.
Using origami, you can finish them quickly, and you could even make them at your hotel.
First, prepare four sheets of black origami paper, which often goes unused.
Two will be for the base and two for the ears.
Once you’ve made the ears, insert them into the base and secure them with tape.
After taping, glue the base, close it, and connect the ends.
That completes Mickey.
For Minnie, add a bow.
Fold a red bow and tuck it under one of the ears to finish.
Mickey Mouse ear headband

When it comes to the easiest Mickey costume, Mickey ear headbands are probably your best bet.
A lot of people buy them at Disneyland and wear them on the spot, right? They’re super easy and instantly boost your mood, so I highly recommend them! They’re also very simple to make.
First, bundle some pipe cleaners together to create the headband base.
Then make the ears out of construction paper and attach them to the base—that’s it! If you want to be Minnie, you can add a red ribbon, too.
bow tie

Why not try making the yellow bow tie that Mickey wears with his formal tailcoat? There are various ways to make a bow tie, but the basics are to sew the ribbon part and the center wrap as tube seams.
For the ribbon, once you’ve sewn it into a tube, fold it in half lengthwise and sew it into a tube again to add thickness—this gives it a cute finish.
When tying the ribbon with the center piece, be sure to sew on the elastic that will go around the neck.
If you want an even easier method, you can use felt from a 100-yen shop and assemble it by gluing instead of sewing.
Knit hat + pom-pom
If you’re good at knitting, how about making a beanie with Mickey-style ears out of yarn? It’s something you can even wear for everyday outings! It takes some effort, but since you can buy yarn at 100-yen shops, it won’t cost much.
If you want to make one but don’t feel confident, I recommend buying a ready-made beanie and crafting pom-pom ears to attach.
Wrap yarn around a piece of thick paper, slide the paper out, tie the middle with another piece of yarn, then cut the looped ends and trim into a round shape with scissors—voilà, an easy pom-pom! Give it a try.
Mickey’s fluffy gloves

You’re planning to wear Mickey ears for your costume, but it feels like something’s missing… In that case, how about adding fluffy gloves shaped like Mickey’s hands? They’re easy to find in stores and you can put them on and take them off quickly, making them a great option for a simple costume.
If the gloves are too bulky, kids might find them hard to move in and dislike them, so in that case, you could try sticking black felt patterns onto plain white gloves instead.

♬ Club Mouse Beat – Single Version – Tokyo Disneyland
It’s the costume Mickey wore in Tokyo Disneyland’s entertainment program “Club Mouse Beat.” The stylish suit is predominantly white, accented with sleek black and purple lines that really stand out.
The inside of the suit appears to be sequins or a similarly sparkly material that would reflect the lights.
Add a white hat, and you could completely become Mickey.
This person seems to have made everything by hand, but if you buy a white suit and customize it, you could probably finish it easily.
