Tucked tote bag with a wide-opening entrance

Let’s make a tote bag with a wide opening that’s easy to put things into! First, prepare the outer and lining fabrics, the handles, and so on, then cut each piece to your preferred size.
Next, sew the pieces together.
Since we want a larger opening, don’t stitch the top edge all the way from top to bottom—leave a small unsewn section, like a skirt slit.
Attach the handles, pockets, and facing at the opening, and you’re done.
It’s handy for carrying large items or when you’ve done a lot of shopping!
You can make it with a home sewing machine! A canvas tote bag

Here’s an introduction to making a tote bag with canvas.
Canvas is a heavy fabric made from materials like cotton or linen, so you can make a sturdy tote bag.
First, cut the fabric and prepare the outer bag, lining, pockets, and the handle straps.
Then, simply assemble the pieces and sew them together into the shape of a bag—done! Adding pockets to both the outside and inside improves storage and makes it more convenient to use.
It’s also a good idea to attach a button in one spot so you can close the bag.
Try making one for grocery shopping or for your child’s outings!
drawstring tote bag

Here’s an introduction to a tote bag that closes by cinching the opening like a drawstring pouch! First, make the base bag.
Cut the outer fabric, then sew it together with the lining cut to the same size and the handles.
Next, to create the drawstring section, prepare a piece of fabric slightly larger than the base and sew them together.
Don’t forget to attach the lining and the part where the cord will go through.
Thread the cord through the drawstring section, and you’re done! Coordinating colors and varying the design for the outer fabric, lining, and drawstring section will give it a stylish finish.

zipper tote rucksack

Here’s an idea for a bag that can be used both as a tote and as a backpack.
The bag opening has a zipper.
There’s a zippered pocket on the outside and one pocket on the inside.
With a gusset of about 10 cm, it looks like it can hold quite a lot.
Sew the pocket and handles onto the outer fabric, and sew the backpack straps and handles onto the lining fabric.
After sewing a pocket onto one side of the lining, attach the outer fabric and lining to the zipper at the bag opening.
Then sew the outer pieces together and the lining pieces together separately, create the gusset at the bottom, and you’re done! You could also add a tag or charm, or make the backpack straps removable.
[A4 Size] Partitioned Tote Bag

Bag-in-bag organizers that partition the inside of your bag are so handy, aren’t they? Some people also like to keep a water bottle or PET bottle standing upright.
This idea makes that wish come true: a tote bag with dividers.
First, sew pockets and handles onto the outer fabric, then attach the bottom panel to create the bag exterior.
Next, sew together various fabrics to make the dividers, and stitch them to the exterior to finish.
You’ll also sew on a D-ring along the way, so you can attach your favorite shoulder strap and carry it on your shoulder!
Also great as an eco bag! Nylon tote bag

Nylon fabric is more water-resistant than cotton and the like, and it’s nice that even when you fold it up small, it doesn’t wrinkle much.
It’s also light, so it’s easy to carry! Let’s use nylon fabric to make a tote bag.
First, we’ll make the pocket to fold and store the bag in, and then we’ll make the main body of the bag.
The bag is the type without a gusset, so the sewing is simple.
After that, you just connect these two parts! Thin nylon fabric can be slippery and hard to sew, so proceed carefully.
Ring-handle tote bag

Here’s an idea for a tote bag with cute ring handles.
It’s perfect if you want to make a stylish tote to use as your main bag.
It has one zippered pocket on the inside and one on the outside, which is great for keeping valuables safe.
Apply fusible interfacing to both the outer fabric and the lining.
Sew the pocket pieces onto the outer fabric and the lining, then place them right sides together and sew the handle areas with a 1 cm seam allowance.
Thread the ring handles through, sew the opposite side in the same way, then slide the rings to the left and right handle sections and sew the outer fabric to the lining.
Turn the bag right side out, create the gussets, then sew the area under the rings and the bag opening to finish!
