Hilcrhyme’s classic and popular songs

Let me introduce a two-person rap unit, Hilcrhyme, consisting of TOC and DJ KATSU.

In 2009, they released “Shunkashuto” (Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter), which became a huge topic at the time, hitting number one across various charts such as ringtone rankings, Oricon, and the cable broadcast charts.

The appeal of their music lies in how catchy and easy to listen to it is, even while being rap, which won them great popularity.

Despite their catchy style, the MC TOC used to belong to a hip-hop unit called NITE FULL MAKERS and reportedly performed at B BOY PARK, Japan’s largest hip-hop event.

Now, please enjoy the music of Hilcrhyme, a group with a formidable hip-hop backbone.

This is a song co-created with SUNSQRITT, a reggae musician from the same hometown.

It’s included on the debut album “Recital,” released in 2010.

From this track, which fuses reggae and hip-hop, you can feel the determination to strive for greater heights as a musician.

At one live show, TOC said he wrote the lyrics from a woman’s perspective.

I think it’s a song that skillfully captures the complex feelings a woman has when parting.

KATU’s piano also fits perfectly with the sorrowful emotions of a woman facing a breakup.

This song was apparently created as a celebratory piece for a friend from TOC’s hometown who was getting married.

It’s known that whenever the song is performed live, everyone—including TOC, KATU, and the fans—raises their hands and waves them from right to left while singing.

The “dress” in the title refers to a wedding dress.

It’s a classic wedding song included on their seventh album, “SIDE BY SIDE,” released in 2016.

The song is a straightforward love ballad that expresses being utterly captivated by the beauty of the one you love.

For some reason, there are two promotional videos for this song.

One was filmed and performed at an amusement park at night.

The other was filmed and performed in the middle of a city.

It’s rumored that one of the two was made during Hilcrhyme’s indie days.

This is a song that was included with the loose-leaf and released together.

It’s been performed many times on various live tours, so any fan will have heard it.

I couldn’t find the music video, but judging from TOC’s outfit, this footage seems to be from “LIKE A NOVEL.” TOC’s vocals and KATU’s piano are truly a perfect match for this song.

After StoryHilcrhyme

This is the theme song for the film “Shunkashūtō Monogatari,” which is based on Hilcrhyme’s big hit “Shunkashūtō (Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter).” The lyrics depict the story eight years after “Shunkashūtō.” The circumstances surrounding the two have gradually changed, and while things aren’t exactly the same as they were back then, it’s a gentle song that lets you feel the unchanging love between them.
