Hilcrhyme’s classic and popular songs

Let me introduce a two-person rap unit, Hilcrhyme, consisting of TOC and DJ KATSU.

In 2009, they released “Shunkashuto” (Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter), which became a huge topic at the time, hitting number one across various charts such as ringtone rankings, Oricon, and the cable broadcast charts.

The appeal of their music lies in how catchy and easy to listen to it is, even while being rap, which won them great popularity.

Despite their catchy style, the MC TOC used to belong to a hip-hop unit called NITE FULL MAKERS and reportedly performed at B BOY PARK, Japan’s largest hip-hop event.

Now, please enjoy the music of Hilcrhyme, a group with a formidable hip-hop backbone.

Parallel WorldHilcrhyme

Parallel WorldHilcrhyme

This is the 19th single, released in 2016.

In the lyrics, the gap everyone feels between their “ideal self” and their “real self” is compared to two versions of oneself living in parallel worlds.

Listening to this song, which sings about the importance of breaking out of your shell and living as your true self, gives you the confidence to try a little harder.

LIFE IS GOODHilcrhyme

This is the closing track of the fourth album, LIKE A NOVEL, released in 2012.

Set to a melody that samples the classical standard Pachelbel’s Canon, it delivers a message about living a life without regrets.

It’s a song that lifts your spirits and makes you feel positive.

Released in 2017 as the 22nd single, it was chosen as the theme song for the Fuji TV drama “Sakura no Oyako-don.” It’s a song overflowing with gentle warmth that embraces a loved one, declaring, “Even if sad things happen, I’ll make sure to bring you happiness.”

fireflyHilcrhyme

In summer, firefly hotspots across Niigata come alive with activity.

TOC wrote lyrics that vividly evoke those scenes.

Even after their major debut, the two members of Hilcrhyme have continued to live in nature-rich Niigata.

This song paints, in a realistic poetic way, the landscapes they’ve watched since they were little—and sings them.

NEW ERAHilcrhyme

This is the opening track of their sixth album, “REVIVAL,” released in 2015.

Unlike Hilcrhyme’s singles and love songs, its lyrics carry a sharp, biting edge that really strikes a chord.

You can feel a powerful message urging us to create what we truly want to express.

no oneHilcrhyme

This song was created after the Great East Japan Earthquake.

At one live performance, TOC talked about the earthquake, and this song was performed after his talk.

The disaster claimed many lives, and the song’s lyrics reflect the importance of bonds between people.

The promotional video was filmed for the first time in Los Angeles, USA.

This song is famous for being performed at Hilcrhyme’s concerts while everyone spins their towels.

Hilcrhyme and the fans become one, and the whole venue heats up with excitement.

People of all ages jump and whirl their towels—it’s the quintessential live-performance anthem.
