Hitorie’s famous and popular songs
HITORIE is a four-piece rock band that made its major debut in 2014 by launching an independent label under Sony.
The guitarist and vocalist is wowaka, who originally worked as a Vocaloid producer under the name ‘Genzōhi Tōhi-P’ (also known as ‘Kagerou Tōhi-P’), and they sometimes perform covers of his songs from that period.
Their sharp guitar riffs leave a strong impression, and the slightly idiosyncratic vocals are also highly captivating.

Dancing mannequins, singing foolsHitorie

The aggressively scooped, ultra-crisp bass that tears through the mix is striking.
Starting with a solo like in the live video linked is sure to get anyone hyped.
Combined with the lead guitar phrasing—one of the band’s trademarks—it’s incredibly addictive.
Unknown Mother GooseHitorie

From the intro, a lively rock sound kicks in with vocals and a punchy drum kick.
The arrangement keeps things engaging from the first verse to the pre-chorus, which is fun.
It has the kind of impact only a full band can deliver, and if it caught your interest, why not try it at karaoke? I’m sure you’ll have a great time.
FuyunoHitorie

This is a track from the second album “DEEPER,” released in February 2016.
As the title suggests, the lyrics paint a scene of two people on a winter day, and the dry-toned piano conveys the chill of the season.
The guitar at the end features a tear-jerking melody that even guitarist Shinoda wholeheartedly vouches for!

Subliminal One-StepHitorie

It’s a high-tempo song with impactful harmony parts and a great groove.
Overall it has such a bright vibe that it makes you want to go to a live show, and it would be great for karaoke too, wouldn’t it? I believe music is all about having fun, so let’s hype it up even more than they do!
Montage GirlHitorie

In “Room-sick Girls Escape,” this track comes right after SisterJudy, carrying over the lingering afterglow of the previous song while delivering plenty of speed.
What’s interesting is that, despite its catchy, fast-paced sound, the lyrics depict a certain girl’s inner conflict and suffering.
Lura luraHitorie

A track from “Room Sick Girls Escape.” It’s a killer tune that existed from Hitorie’s very early days and is a fan favorite.
The lyrics are quite enigmatic, and I take them to depict a “me” and an “I” who, fed up with a “smooth, uneventful life” and a “shameful life,” begin to surge forward by locking away a “feeble future” and the “wedge in their hearts.” The way the lyrics invite differing interpretations from listeners is part of their appeal, too.
ImperfectionHitorie

This is the lead track from their major first full-length album, WONDER and WONDER, released in November 2014.
The bending on the lead guitar in the intro resonates really nicely.
Bringing back the A-melody at the end and blasting through to the finish is cool, too.
