Hitorie’s famous and popular songs

HITORIE is a four-piece rock band that made its major debut in 2014 by launching an independent label under Sony.

The guitarist and vocalist is wowaka, who originally worked as a Vocaloid producer under the name ‘Genzōhi Tōhi-P’ (also known as ‘Kagerou Tōhi-P’), and they sometimes perform covers of his songs from that period.

Their sharp guitar riffs leave a strong impression, and the slightly idiosyncratic vocals are also highly captivating.

A cheerful mid-tempo rock tune! The upbeat A section vibe keeps going, carries into the B section, and the guitar arrangements are interesting—it’s the kind of track that feels fresh again when you come back to it after a while.

You can really hear the recording engineer’s work in how each instrument is brought forward so it holds its own against other tracks.

NOTOKHitorie

An ambitious work by HITORIE that captivates guitarists with its delicate chord progressions and intricate rhythmic patterns.

Included on the album “Friend Chord,” this track is a landmark piece produced from previously unreleased material by former vocalist wowaka.

The fleeting key change at 1:32 and the seamless return to the original key make the guitar parts exceptionally beautiful, showcasing a virtuosic performance that delicately weaves together arpeggios and tapping.

Released as a CD single in November 2024, it was also included on the album “Friend Chord” on November 27 of the same year.

Positioned as the culmination of their 10th major-label anniversary, this is a highly recommended track for those who want to take on high-level guitar playing or savor a finely crafted musical structure.

Let’s crank up the energy with this sharp-edged rock number! It’s a track by Hitorie, a rock band celebrated for their advanced, high-sense musicality, released in 2021 as their fifth single.

It was chosen as the opening theme for the anime “86 — Eighty-Six.” The dynamic ebb-and-flow of the song’s structure is so characteristic of them, and it has a charm that makes you want to listen on repeat.

And with its philosophical lyrics and suggestive title… there’s plenty to dig into.
