Hitorie’s famous and popular songs

HITORIE is a four-piece rock band that made its major debut in 2014 by launching an independent label under Sony.

The guitarist and vocalist is wowaka, who originally worked as a Vocaloid producer under the name ‘Genzōhi Tōhi-P’ (also known as ‘Kagerou Tōhi-P’), and they sometimes perform covers of his songs from that period.

Their sharp guitar riffs leave a strong impression, and the slightly idiosyncratic vocals are also highly captivating.

It starts with an intro, repeats a classic A-melody up to the chorus, and then the second verse comes in.

If you like the voice and the vibe, why not try it at karaoke? I’m sure you’ll have fun.

It might be a good idea to practice a little, though.

Try practicing by layering your voice over the original vocals using a single-ear earphone or single-ear headphone.

Included on “WONDER and WONDER,” this track is a rare attempt at odd time signatures for Hitorie.

The intro and first verse are in 5/4, the chorus is in 6/4, and after the second chorus there’s an interlude that combines and repeats those two meters, making for a rather complex structure.

Even so, it retains Hitorie’s signature catchiness.

Starting with a band-like four-count, this track is the first song on the full album “IKI,” released in December 2016.

Despite its uptempo feel, the somewhat wistful melody tugs at the heart.

The four-on-the-floor chorus fits perfectly with the lyric “ride this rhythm.”

This track, included on the independently produced mini-album “Room Sick Girls Escape” released in December 2012, was Hitorie’s first work to be published on the web.

True to a song that leads off the album, it bursts with a sense of speed from the opening riff, and the rapid-fire vocals and their distinctive lyrical worldview are sure to draw you in!

A track from “Room Sick Girls Escape.” It’s a killer tune that existed from Hitorie’s very early days and is a fan favorite.

The lyrics are quite enigmatic, and I take them to depict a “me” and an “I” who, fed up with a “smooth, uneventful life” and a “shameful life,” begin to surge forward by locking away a “feeble future” and the “wedge in their hearts.” The way the lyrics invite differing interpretations from listeners is part of their appeal, too.

I, My & MeHitorie

With no intro, the music of words bursts out at full speed from the very start.

It’s a quintessentially HITORIE track, but what stands out is the recurring word “nai” in the lyrics.

“Nai” signifies an absence, a blank space, and it’s within those many blanks that the listener imagines—and a vast sense of unease is born.

The song’s whirlwind progression is exhilarating!

Hitorie is a three-piece rock band whose hallmark is songs that draw listeners in with an original worldview and sound.

Their fifth digital single, “Juggernaut,” makes a striking impact with its edgy guitar-riff sound.

The lyrics evoke an image of staying true to your core in a world that’s hard to live in, and they may deliver both courage and a jolt to those who keep suppressing themselves in daily life.

It’s an aggressive track whose cool rock ensemble will lift your spirits.
