Ikimono-gakari’s famous and popular songs

Let me introduce songs by Ikimono-gakari, a wildly popular three-member music group.

Their straight, crystal-clear vocals are incredibly appealing, and you hear their songs in all kinds of settings.

The origin of their group name comes from members Mizuno and Yamashita having been in charge of the class animal-care duty (“ikimono-gakari”) together in elementary school.

From high-energy tracks like “Joyful” to ballads like “Koi Suru Otome,” they have a wide range of songs—enjoy them to the fullest.

This is the 20th single from Ikimono-gakari, the duo that has released numerous hits ranging from lyrical ballads to up-tempo pop numbers.

Released as a double A-side single with “Waratte Itai n da,” many of you may have heard it as it was used as the theme song for the information program Mezamashi TV.

Its daring sound, featuring a horn section, fused with Ikimono-gakari’s signature pop melodies, delivers a refreshing feeling that helps you start even the toughest mornings on a pleasant note.

With a light four-on-the-floor beat that lifts your spirits, it’s a perfect track to use as your wake-up song.

A song included as the 12th track on Ikimonogakari’s seventh major original album, “FUN! FUN! FANFARE!,” released in December 2014.

It’s a track in which Ikimonogakari gently yet powerfully sings about the feelings of lovers who decide to part ways and walk separate paths as the seasons change from winter to spring.

This is Ikimonogakari’s seventh digital-only single, released in August 2020.

It was used as the theme song for TV Asahi’s Thursday drama “The Investigator of Unsolved Cases: Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department Document Investigation Unit,” Season 2.

It’s a very beautiful, mid-tempo, gentle track.

While Ikimonogakari is often associated with energetic songs featuring striking high vocals, a tender song like this is equally captivating.

Performing a piece like this well does require a fairly high level of vocal ability in many respects, but if you focus on enjoying it at karaoke, the melody doesn’t rise and fall too dramatically, so it’s relatively easy to sing even for those who aren’t confident singers.

It’s perfectly fine to prioritize the vibe over strict accuracy!

A gem from Ikimonogakari that cheers on the start of a new life filled with dreams and hope.

Opening the album “Hajimari no Uta ~Tooi Sora Sunde~,” this track debuted at No.

1 on the Oricon charts in 2010 and held the top spot for three consecutive weeks.

With its refreshing melody and moving lyrics, it gently encourages those feeling uneasy in a new environment.

Its story—realizing you’re in the midst of your dream and that it’s okay not to have all the answers—will resonate with new students whose hearts are a mix of anticipation and anxiety before the entrance ceremony.

A heartwarming song that gives courage to everyone taking a new step forward.

Ikimono-gakari is a duo known for their versatile musical style and numerous tie-ins.

Their song “Koe,” released in advance from their 10th major album, Maru, was written as a cheer anthem for ANYTEAM’s project, “#CheeringIsASportThatDeliversFeelings.” Its message—believe in what you’ve built so far and move forward into the future—will likely give courage to those turning twenty and stepping into adulthood.

It’s a refreshing pop tune whose straightforward vocals gently accompany both hope and anxiety.

Manga artist Yuuki Kikuchi serialized “A Crocodile Who Will Die in 100 Days” on Twitter for 100 days.

Everyone watched to see how it would end, and it became a huge topic.

It was a four-panel comic depicting ordinary, everyday life that set social media abuzz.

As a collaboration song with that work, Ikimono-gakari created and performed “Ikiru” (“To Live”).

It’s a moving song that makes you realize that the unremarkable daily life of “Wani-kun,” who ultimately died—an ordinary young person’s everyday routine—is not dull at all, but something precious.
