Ikimonogakari’s Greatest/Popular Songs (11–20)
Promise in Madder Redikimonogakari

This is the song that was used as the CM song for au’s “LISMO!” It has a cute, commercial-like vibe.
Mizuno, who wrote the lyrics and composed the music, revealed that he originally wrote it with the theme of a wedding.
It was apparently performed at Yoshioka’s older brother’s wedding as well.
HANABIikimonogakari

It was used as an ending theme for the anime BLEACH.
It’s their second major-label single, an upbeat and cool track.
The section before the chorus—the B-melody part with the line “In an instant it blooms; it’s a firework”—feels just like a scene from a suspense drama.
Glintikimonogakari

It’s the theme song for the Toho-distributed film “Blue Spring Ride.” A promotional video using footage from the movie has been produced.
Woven with a bright and colorful sound, it tells a heart-throbbing story about “two people who can’t be honest, stuck in a frustratingly close-yet-distant relationship.” Its adorably awkward innocence is irresistibly endearing.
Let the flowers in your heart bloom.ikimonogakari

This is the cheering song for the 87th All Japan High School Soccer Tournament.
Before the final match on January 12, 2009, three members appeared and performed this song.
The lyric “I’m sure there’s nothing wrong with who I am now” likely gave the players courage.
Although it was never released as a single, it gained popularity, being performed on music shows and included in the members’ best-of album.
Joyfulikimonogakari

It became a hot topic as the CM song for Ezaki Glico’s “Pocky.” Even the members said they were “blown away” when they first heard the demo, and that reaction makes sense—it’s unlike anything else out there.
The choreography where they spin their hands around is also striking.
Bluebirdikimonogakari

An adult, cool song that was used as an opening theme for Naruto Shippuden.
The blues harp phrase in the intro is striking.
The music video—shot in a bowling alley and inspired by a birdcage—further enhances the song’s image.

I’ll come see you.ikimonogakari

Ryo Mizuno has said of this song, “The lyrics embody what it means to be a group like Ikimonogakari, and it’s a song filled with more determination than ever before.” It is a moving medium-tempo ballad that sings, “I’m coming to see you, someone precious to me.”
