The Brandy War Chronicles is the one that exploded thanks to their debut track, “Musica.” Despite being an ultra-new band—only six months after forming and with about a month of actual activity—the music video released on YouTube in December 2022 hit 10,000 views within a week.

Six months later, it had racked up nearly 3 million views.

After it was released on streaming platforms, it also reached No.

1 on Spotify’s Viral Chart.

Perhaps its kayō-rock-inspired sound, which doesn’t chase trends, struck a chord with listeners.

Formed in 2018 in Higashi-Osaka, the band continues its activities today with a new drummer as the renewed ammo.

Their demo recording “Neta-buri no Kimi e,” released exclusively through Tower Records in 2020, sold out its 1,000-copy run, leading to nationwide distribution due to popular demand.

In November of the same year they released their first album, “Au wa Wakare no Hajime,” followed by their second album, “Wareware no Moromoro,” in 2022.

The label’s YouTube channel features many music videos for various songs, so be sure to check them out!

Marutakee is a girls’ band from Kyoto known for their energetic, fast-paced guitar rock sound.

Himeka’s true-to-life lyrics as the vocalist mesh perfectly with Rion’s bass and Kurumi’s drums.

Their songwriting emphasizes a strong sense of unity at live shows, and they’re gaining attention on social media platforms like TikTok.

We especially recommend their music to listeners of their own generation who can relate to the anxieties and hopes of youth.

Let me introduce a band that embodies new possibilities in music! Kroi, whose buzzworthy tracks brilliantly blend R&B, funk, hip-hop, and more, made their major debut in 2018.

Their name was inspired by the “black” in Black music, which the members loved.

They’re recommended not only for fans of the rock scene, but also for those who enjoy jazzy sounds or like to savor each instrument with care.

The momentum of the young girls’ band, Saba Sisters, is truly astounding.

They only formed in March 2022, yet within just five months they landed a spot at Summer Sonic and have been dominating major events nationwide.

In particular, vocalist Nachi’s unique sensibility and word choice are outstanding, and their down-to-earth lyrics and melodies are sure to resonate with teens.

Their live performances, which unleash those catchy songs, are nothing short of breathtaking! Having sold out a solo show within a year of forming, you can’t take your eyes off what they’ll do next.

It’s impossible not to feel the arrival of a major new act poised to lead the next scene—right now, they’re one of the most unmissable presences out there!

A three-piece rock band formed in Kobe in 2009 by then-junior-high-school students vocalist Takuya Saito and Ken Mackay.

The name is pronounced “double u oh dee.” Although the band name means “a duck that can’t swim,” they won a prize in the audition hosted by Rockin’On with their muscular alternative rock, and subsequently earned a slot to perform at SUMMER SONIC.

Their one-man tour also sold out, and their momentum continues to build.

A four-piece formed in 2012 within a university club.

The band’s name is DYGL, pronounced “Diglo,” meaning fluorescent, cheap-and-flashy.

The following year, they put out releases on CD, vinyl, and cassette, pursuing activities with a strategy and sensibility distinct from others.

With garage-rooted rock that’s highly regarded overseas and lyrics with a sci‑fi vibe, their profile in Japan is likely to rise in the future.
