It’s the lead track included on Abema—Mao Abe’s—major label debut album.

A driving band sound and Abema’s powerful vocals hit you square in the head! The impact when I first heard it at her debut was so intense I still haven’t forgotten it.

It’s insanely cool no matter when you listen! In days that can only go how they go, and amid all kinds of resignations, when I’m frustrated with myself wondering why I can’t do more, this song gives me a huge boost of power! When I listen to “Free,” it makes me want to keep running “freely,” throwing all pretense aside, no matter how old I get.

InfernoMrs. GREEN APPLE

When you’re feeling irritated, many people probably want to listen to intense rock sounds.

For you, I recommend Mrs.

GREEN APPLE’s “Inferno.” Its sound features heavily distorted electric guitars front and center, so just listening to it can relieve stress.

The music video is cool too, so be sure to check out the visuals as well.

The bluesy sound feels really good to listen to! It’s a song by the music unit Superfly, released in 2007 as their second single.

The lyrics carry a message of “living true to yourself,” giving you the courage to face unpleasant things and troubles.

And Shiho Ochi’s soulful vocals are wonderful! I recommend it when you want something refreshing to listen to—you’ll feel clear in both mind and body.

the utmost depths of resentment and bitternessOfisharu Higedan Dism

This song is the one that blows away everyday frustrations in a satisfying rush.

The lyrics humorously capture honest feelings that many can relate to, and as you listen, you may feel your spirits lift.

It seems to help you accept negative emotions as part of yourself and gives you the strength to move forward.

This track is included on the album “Rejoice,” released in July 2024, which was produced about three years after the previous album “Editorial.” While this song doesn’t have a direct tie-in, the album features many hit tracks.

It’s recommended for times when you’re feeling down or want to clear up the haze of relationship troubles.

It turns daily pent-up stress into laughter and gives you energy for tomorrow, so if you’re looking to refresh yourself, be sure to give it a listen!

Horse and deerYonezu Kenshi

When you’re feeling irritated, you might prefer calmer, more mellow songs over upbeat ones.

For people like that, Kenshi Yonezu’s “Uma to Shika” is highly recommended.

This song also drew attention as the theme song for the TV drama “No Side Game.” With its gentle yet grand sound, it may gradually soothe negative feelings like impatience, anxiety, and irritation as you listen.

A four-piece rock band that enjoys immense popularity not only in Japan but overseas as well, ONE OK ROCK delivers this track.

Kicking off with a drum fill, the song cranks up the energy from the drums alone—this is rock through and through.

With a modern drum groove, a bass line that weaves and surges freely, catchy and driving guitars, and a powerful vocal that stands out even amid these distinctive performances, every part offers something to savor.

It’s a perfect stress reliever when you’re feeling irritated—a modern classic of Japanese rock.

There are people who are just hopelessly delusional, right? The type who jump to conclusions and twist everything to suit themselves.

And when that gets mixed up with romance, things get really complicated.

Chiaki Mayumura’s “Kao-don” is a song packed with those feelings; by the time you finish listening, you feel refreshed and ready to belt it out in front of the person who’s got it all wrong.

It’s a track that corrects their misconceptions and smacks them with plain logic—like saying, “No, that’s not it,” as your irritation meter maxes out and explodes.

The music video is funny and quirky too, and I highly recommend it.
