Take cardboard or any spare thick paper and punch holes in it with a hole punch.

Thread white yarn through the holes to create the snowman’s base.

Then stick on round stickers or pieces cut from origami paper for the eyes, nose, and cheeks, and you’ll have an adorable snowman.

Threading the yarn through the holes might be a bit tricky, but if you try it together with your child, it can also be good practice for developing fine motor skills!

As a craft idea perfect for winter in childcare settings, how about making one with a snowman motif? By cutting out the inside of a paper plate and flipping it over, you can easily create the snowman’s shape.

Use origami paper, chenille stems (pipe cleaners), and beads to make the body parts and scarf.

If you plan to hang it on a window, adding colored cellophane will give the wreath a sparkling, festive finish.

It’s also recommended to pre-cut the paper plates so children can work on the craft safely and with confidence.

First, create a frame that surrounds the entire illustration.

Next, use construction paper to make a snowman sized to fit inside the frame.

Finally, stick transparent origami paper over the gaps so there are no openings, and you’re done.
