Misissippiroid is an instrumental band from Nagoya that began activity in 2010.
Their sound blends an electronic sonic palette and pop sensibilities with the impulsiveness of a rock band and a gentle atmosphere.
Their technical playing and sharp melodic sense are also really cool.
In the 2010 audition “Deren no!? Summer Sonic!?” they received the Kohei Dojima Award.
After guitarist Sugita left the band, they continued as a three-piece with Watanabe on keyboards, Sakaki on bass, and Toya on drums.
Prismyou you you all the same

The band you you you all the same is characterized by its sparkling sound.
Since each member has played in other bands, their performance really shows solid skill.
The song “Prism” in the video is included on their self-titled mini-album, you you you all the same, released in 2016.
The atmosphere of the music video matches the track very well.
Soul RiverSonoda Bando

This six-piece instrumental band, which included violin and cello, disbanded in 2014.
Their activities were wide-ranging, from appearing at Hibari Misora’s memorial concert to collaborating with Saori Yuki.
This track is a breezy dance number with jazz elements, and the violin and cello melodies instantly draw out a striking sense of clarity.

Ovall is a band consisting of bassist Shingo Suzuki, drummer mabanua, and guitarist Shingo Sekiguchi.
Each member is also active as a solo artist, musician, and producer.
Their unique, one-of-a-kind “Oval sound” seamlessly incorporates a wide range of genres, including jazz, soul, and hip-hop.
Their 2011 single “Feverish Imagination” was a hit.
Due to the members’ increasingly busy solo schedules, the band went on hiatus in 2013 and returned in 2017.
While their collaborations draw attention and they have many vocal tracks, they originally started as an instrumental band.
Their music envelops you in a highly accessible soundscape and a groove that is both gentle and powerful.
In 2021, they rearranged the classic “Signal From The Noise” by the instrumental band BADBADNOTGOOD.
You can’t take your eyes off the ever-deepening Oval sound.
MELLOWMIDORINOMARU

The instrumental band MIDORINOMARU, notable for its compact two-member lineup, began activity in 2010.
With the minimalist combination of NiKA on piano and Akihiro Mitsuboshi on drums, their woven rhythms feel very approachable and uplifting.
Mitsuboshi also performs as a supporting member for artists such as Rekishi and Scha Dara Parr.
In 2021, their 11th year as a band, they released the album “MELLOW.” Its light, feel-good sound soothes no matter when you listen.
Afro SandGOMA & The Jungle Rhythm Section

A groove band led by GOMA, a didgeridoo artist and painter.
The pleasantly pulsing low tones of the didgeridoo paired with lively Latin percussion feel fresh, creating a unique atmosphere that gets you dancing before you know it.
