Kicking off with their appearance on the FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL ’19 ROOKIE A GO-GO stage in 2019, they have pursued an active live schedule at home and abroad.

Their international reputation has been rising as well, including seven shows in the UK in 2022.

Combining mathematical complexity with a soothing, floating feel, paranoid void’s music is recommended not only for fans of progressive rock but also for listeners seeking spacious, atmospheric sounds.

An instrumental band that performs with a unique style centered on the steelpan.

The steelpan is an instrument invented in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean, made from oil drums and capable of playing scales.

Although it’s a relatively new style that you don’t often see in Japan, their songs have a certain nostalgic atmosphere that becomes addictive.

It’s hard to believe everything is played with percussion, yet the melodies, along with the vitality and dynamic impact that only percussion can deliver, are truly captivating—surely a new-generation instrumental band.

Hyakkei is a three-piece band from Osaka consisting of bassist Kyabunatsuko, drummer Tanaka Ken, and guitarist Nakamoto Shu.

In 2007, they drew attention by performing at SXSW, where Perfume also appeared.

They value the simple resonance of instruments, and their unique soundscape feels warm, soft, and soothing to listen to—especially recommended at dusk! Drummer Tanaka Ken has also released three solo mini-albums, including “Aka no Blend” (Red Blend).

Misissippiroid is an instrumental band from Nagoya that began activity in 2010.

Their sound blends an electronic sonic palette and pop sensibilities with the impulsiveness of a rock band and a gentle atmosphere.

Their technical playing and sharp melodic sense are also really cool.

In the 2010 audition “Deren no!? Summer Sonic!?” they received the Kohei Dojima Award.

After guitarist Sugita left the band, they continued as a three-piece with Watanabe on keyboards, Sakaki on bass, and Toya on drums.

Ovall is a band consisting of bassist Shingo Suzuki, drummer mabanua, and guitarist Shingo Sekiguchi.

Each member is also active as a solo artist, musician, and producer.

Their unique, one-of-a-kind “Oval sound” seamlessly incorporates a wide range of genres, including jazz, soul, and hip-hop.

Their 2011 single “Feverish Imagination” was a hit.

Due to the members’ increasingly busy solo schedules, the band went on hiatus in 2013 and returned in 2017.

While their collaborations draw attention and they have many vocal tracks, they originally started as an instrumental band.

Their music envelops you in a highly accessible soundscape and a groove that is both gentle and powerful.

In 2021, they rearranged the classic “Signal From The Noise” by the instrumental band BADBADNOTGOOD.

You can’t take your eyes off the ever-deepening Oval sound.
