Subtly flashy (bling-bling, but nonchalant)Kondō Masahiko

One of the biggest hits by Johnny’s Entertainment’s eldest star, Masahiko Kondo, “Gingiragin ni Sarigenaku”! It remains beloved by many and has been used in numerous settings, including commercials and as a cheer song for professional baseball players.
At the 32nd NHK Kōhaku Uta Gassen, it was performed as the opening number for the White Team, and at the 66th edition, it was featured as the White Team’s finale.
When it was covered by TOKIO, Kondo’s junior group from Johnny’s, the arrangement was handled by Toshihiko Takamizawa of THE ALFEE.

Beyond the Night SkySMAP

Formed in 1988 and, to much regret, disbanded in 2016, SMAP was arguably the most popular of Johnny’s idol groups—widely known and loved by everyone from children to the elderly.
Their song Yozora no Mukō has a gentle, mellow feel and is adored by a broad audience.
It’s also well known that Shikao Suga wrote the lyrics and has released a self-cover of the song.
Moonlight walkerA.B.C-Z

“Moonlight Walker” is a single by A.B.C-Z.
Although they had released albums and DVDs before, this is their first single.
Lyrics by Goro Matsui, music by Koji Makaino, arrangement by Hajime Funayama.
The song portrays a relationship in which a man is captivated by a woman with a slightly mysterious, suspicious allure—an unusual theme for an idol track.
It’s a cool, upbeat song, so be sure to give it a listen.
Alphananiwa danshi

“Alpha” features many bright yet somewhat ballad-like, mellow phrases.
It’s a song that evokes the feel of the Heisei-era idol style, and overall it’s tied together by catchy vocals.
The vocal range for this track is mid1E to hiC.
Since it sits within a typical range and the melodic movement is similar to that of standard J-pop, it can be considered quite easy to sing.
However, because the core of the song generally centers on mid-to-high notes, if you find it a bit high, it’s better to adjust the key based on the frequently occurring mid2C rather than the highest note.
SIGNALKAT-TUN

KAT-TUN’s second single “SIGNAL,” released in 2006.
It was featured as the CM song for NTT DoCoMo’s “new 9 series” and served as the mid-season theme song for Nippon Broadcasting System’s “KAT-TUN Style” from July to October.
It’s an encouraging song that soothes you when you’re tired of trying and of life itself.
It helps you relax your shoulders and feel ready to give it another go.
DAYBREAKotoko

Daybreak, the debut single by Otokogumi, was released in 1988.
Unusually for Johnny’s at the time, they were a band-style group.
They effectively disbanded in 1993, and among the members, the only one who remains with Johnny’s today is Kenichi Okamoto, the vocalist and rhythm guitarist.
It’s a cool rock number that makes full use of their band-driven sound.
Doki itnaniwa danshi

This is a powerful rock tune by Naniwa Danshi that brightly cheers on young people starting a new chapter in life.
Released in February 2025 as the CM song for AOKI’s “Freshers Fair,” it carries a warm message that “being yourself is what’s truly wonderful,” with forward-looking lyrics full of a spirit of challenge that resonate deeply.
This track fully showcases the vocal and performance strengths of the group’s seven uniquely talented members.
The dance scenes, featuring refreshingly simple outfits of white shirts and denim, are also striking.
It’s a song that will gently nudge anyone taking their first step into something new.
