Speaking of July, the first thing that comes to mind is Tanabata.
To create a summery feel, the key is to use simple materials and small parts.
For example, making and putting up decorations like tanzaku strips, stars, flowers, and sun shapes will make the space feel lively.
A fun wall display brightens the atmosphere of the center.

Easy origami morning glory

Let’s make morning glories—one of the quintessential symbols of summer—using origami.
First, draw a circle on blue origami paper for the flower base and cut it out with scissors.
Next, take white origami paper for the inner pattern, fold it into a triangle twice, then unfold it once.
Fold the left and right corners diagonally inward so they overlap.
Draw a V-shaped cutting line, cut along it with scissors, open it up, and attach it to the circular base.
From there, you can trim the edge of the base to form petals, or make a single slit and overlap the edges before gluing to create a three-dimensional morning glory.
Make some leaves as well, and be sure to display your work on the wall!
Paper plate turtle

Here’s how to make a paper-plate turtle that swims smoothly through the sea.
Get crayons, a paper plate, raffia tape, and scissors ready.
Color the paper plate with a green crayon.
Make slits around the edge of the plate, then weave the raffia tape through the slits to create the turtle’s shell pattern.
Attach the turtle’s legs and head, made from construction paper, to the plate, and you’re done! Mount it on a construction-paper background, draw sea creatures, and create a summery July wall display! By changing the color of the raffia tape for the shell, you can make your own original shell design!
sunflower field

Sunflowers that bloom like the sun in summer are uplifting just to look at, aren’t they? Let’s make lots of sunflowers and create a sunflower field on the wall! Use brown construction paper for the centers, and attach petals by combining yellow and orange papers.
Using yellow check-patterned paper is also recommended.
Make the stems and leaves with green construction paper, and your sunflowers are complete! Arrange plenty of sunflowers, and, along with drawings of children looking at them and other symbols of summer, create a lively sunflower field scene.
Let’s make fireworks with scratch art

Let’s make one of the quintessential symbols of summer—fireworks—using scratch art.
Prepare a large sheet of drawing paper so it can be displayed on the wall.
First, use crayons to randomly color the paper.
Once it’s covered with color, paint over the entire surface with black, either using a black crayon or black acrylic paint.
After it dries, use a bamboo skewer or another tool with a fine tip to scratch out drawings of fireworks, and you’re done! If you combine several large sheets to create a dynamic piece that makes it look like a whole wall of fireworks, the children will be excited and have a great time.
Morning glories made with dyed paper

The morning glory is a mysterious flower that blooms beautifully only in the morning.
Many children may have grown them in daycare or kindergarten, or had an older sibling bring one home from school.
Let’s make a craft that lets us enjoy watching a morning glory bloom.
It’s recommended to use a washi-like paper that you can dye to create soft, delicate colors for the petals.
Fold the paper to form the shape of a morning glory, then add color only to the outer edges of the petals.
Thanks to the nature of the paper, the color will bleed slightly, giving it a lovely, realistic morning glory look! Finally, make vines and a flowerpot from construction paper and combine them with the morning glory flower to complete the craft.
Animals wearing yukata wall decoration

In summer, there are festivals and fireworks displays, and many children have the chance to wear yukata.
How about a craft that combines yukata with cute animals? Cut construction paper to create the children’s favorite animals.
Then dress those animals in yukata.
We recommend using washi-patterned origami for the yukata! Since origami paper is thin, reinforce it by cutting both the origami and a piece of construction paper into the same yukata shape, then glue them together.
After that, just combine the animals with their yukata and you’re done! Create a variety of animals wearing yukata, along with scenes of summer festivals and fireworks, to set the stage for a joyful summertime moment.

Sea creatures made with bubble wrap
https://www.tiktok.com/@hekimen_25/video/7401158098137697543Let’s have fun creating an ocean scene using bubble wrap as cushioning material.
First, cut the bubble wrap into circles and stick them onto construction paper.
Be sure to leave some gaps between them.
Once you’ve painted the bubble wrap with colors, imagine them as octopuses, turtles, or fish, and use paint to add legs or heads around the bubble wrap.
Finally, stick on googly-eye stickers to finish.
It’s also cute and recommended to draw seaweed in the empty spaces or use holographic round stickers to represent bubbles in the water.
