[For Ages 4–5] Brushing-Teeth Crocodile
![[For Ages 4–5] Brushing-Teeth Crocodile](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/DPkhrGfgsS0/sddefault.jpg)
June 4th is Cavity Prevention Day! It’s the perfect time to work extra hard on brushing—and a great craft for this season is making a chomp-chomp animal toy.
Cut a tissue box in half so it can bend, and cover the outside with construction paper in the color of the animal you like.
Make parts like eyes and ears from construction paper or origami paper and attach them.
For the mouth that opens and closes, stick on small white pieces of paper to look like teeth, and you’re done! It’s recommended to add cavity marks to a few of the teeth.
This craft is aimed at children aged 4 to 5.
Let them make it and play with it, and learn the importance of brushing their teeth properly on their own.
[Stamping] Colorful Juice

In June, when it starts to get hot and humid, you start craving a cold juice, right? A great craft for that time is making colorful juice with stamping.
First, prepare construction paper cut into the shape of a cup.
Next, paint your favorite colors onto small pieces of sponge and stamp randomly onto the cup.
Besides stamping, combining elements like round stickers is also recommended.
When you’re done, stick a piece of colored film cut slightly smaller than the cup on top.
Finally, make a straw out of origami paper and attach it to the cup, and you’re done!
Experiential: Let’s go see the droplets and express them

When it rains, droplets form in all kinds of places, don’t they? Let’s observe those droplets and try expressing them in various ways.
On a rainy day, go outside with umbrellas or raincoats.
First, observe the droplets on the playground equipment you usually play on, the droplets that fall onto your hands, and the droplets on windows.
After carefully observing what shapes they are and how they cling to the equipment, go back inside and express the droplets using drawing paper, paints, and more.
Each child can draw on their own sheet of paper, or you can prepare a large canvas and create something together.
It’s a creative activity that reveals how droplets appear through children’s eyes.
[Time Day] Wristwatch with origami
![[Time Day] Wristwatch with origami](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/uKhKtK4wOZU/sddefault.jpg)
With Time Day approaching on June 10, a fun recommendation is to make wristwatches out of origami.
Fold origami paper in your favorite color into the shape of a wristwatch.
On the part that will be the watch face, draw the numbers and hands.
Thread a rubber band through each end of the watch to finish it.
Depending on the children’s ages and builds, it may fit around their wrists even without the rubber band, so teachers should check and adjust as needed.
Adding rubber bands gives some extra flexibility, making it a great idea for children to gift their finished watches to their parents or guardians.

A Jumping Frog Made with a Paper Cup

Let’s make a frog toy you can play with after you build it.
Prepare either a paper cup or a toilet paper roll.
If you use a paper cup, you’ll need to cut off the bottom, so teachers, please give the children cups with the bottom already removed.
Using a single paper cup or toilet paper roll, make the frog’s body as well as parts like the legs and arms—all from the same piece.
If you want to add color, decorate each part with markers or paint before assembling them.
The finished frog will hop when you press its bottom.
For any complicated steps, teachers should assist the children as they work.
Cavity Prevention Day Craft

Let’s create a craft project for Cavity Prevention Day on June 4.
Draw a large face on construction paper, or paste a face cut out of construction paper.
Around it, paste toothbrushes and cups made by cutting out origami or construction paper to make a perfect piece for Cavity Prevention Day.
On the face, try to show teeth that have become white and clean after brushing.
By creating artwork of clean teeth, children’s awareness of tooth brushing will surely improve.
Let’s make it with the determination, “We won’t get cavities!”
Making umbrellas with sponge stamps

Let’s make a cute umbrella using a sponge as a stamp! Prepare construction paper cut into umbrella shapes ahead of time, and have your child do the stamping.
Cut the sponge into a size your child can hold.
Dip the sponge in paint and let them stamp different colors however they like.
Once they’re done, attach a pipe cleaner or similar material to the back of the paper to make the umbrella handle.
If you want to make it three-dimensional, roll the paper into a curve first and then attach the pipe cleaner handle.
Give this a try as a craft activity during the rainy season!
In conclusion
We introduced some craft ideas to work on in June.
The rainy season can often make us feel gloomy, but by preparing fun crafts, we hope the children will have a wonderful time.
Let’s incorporate June-specific motifs and events into the crafts and enjoy them together with the kids!
