Newspaper Spiderweb Circuit
Tear it! Stick it! Crawl through and play! Here’s an idea for a newspaper spiderweb circuit.
You’ll need plastic ribbon (suzuran tape), newspaper, and tape.
This is a great idea when you want to include crawling movements in your circuit.
Some children find tunnels challenging because they’re dark and long.
By tearing and sticking newspaper as part of everyday activities, you can naturally encourage crawling movements! The making process also stimulates children’s creativity—what a wonderful idea.
Defeat the pirates!
This is an event you can insert between more traditional programs to create a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere.
The teacher playing the pirate should be well disguised so their true identity isn’t revealed—that’s the key point of the performance.
Then, have everyone throw beanbag balls at the pirate and work together to defeat them.
Use the microphone to hype things up with lines like, “Let’s defeat the scary pirate!” and “Let’s all work together and do our best!” Hearing these prompts helps the children focus on the activity of grabbing and throwing the balls, so they can enjoy exercising while having fun.

Popular anime characters join the sports day events! These are fun sports day games that even small children can enjoy while playing.
First, in a footrace, choose a character face—like Anpan, Shokupan, or Melonpan—placed in the field.
Once you’ve picked a face, look for the house that has the same picture as the face you’re holding.
When you find the matching house, throw the face you’re holding through the window to clear the game.
You can, of course, use non-anime characters for the event as well.
Taking a stroll on a box♪
This is a parent–child activity using boxes that’s perfect for a class of 0-year-olds.
Use sturdy materials like cardboard to make a vehicle for the children to ride in.
At the sports day, have the children ride in their vehicles while the parents pull them with a string.
Pull slowly and aim for the goal as you move forward.
It’s also nice to set up a mini corner before the finish line where participants can grab a balloon or choose an item.
Decorate the boxes cutely while looking forward to the expressions the children will have as they ride!

Work together with a partner to complete a giant puzzle.
This is a sports day event idea where you collaborate with parents or teachers to fit in one panel at a time, and when you finish assembling the large puzzle, you clear the game.

Adults and children cooperate, think about where to place the panel they’re holding, then pass the baton to the next person.
