Epicenter Game
This is a classic, popular game called the Epicenter Game.
It isn’t uniquely Japanese just because Japan is an earthquake-prone country, but it’s a fun game.

How to play: First choose an “oni” (the guesser).
While the oni isn’t looking, choose one child to be the epicenter.
The epicenter child and the other children form a circle, and the oni stands inside it.
The epicenter starts performing some kind of movement, and the other children imitate the epicenter’s movement.
Whenever the epicenter changes the movement, the others follow and change as well.
The oni watches and tries to guess who the epicenter is.
Candy fishing game
The candy fishing game is perfect for Christmas, with simple rules where you use a handmade fishing rod to catch treats—fun even for toddlers.
Just imagine scattering candies in a large container and fishing them out with your friends, hearts pounding with excitement.
If you prepare together with a parent or guardian, it’ll be even more fun.

Bomb game
Here’s a recommended party game that even toddlers can enjoy: the “Bomb Game”! Have everyone sit in a circle and pass a ball to the person next to them while music is playing.

“Russian Cream Puff” is a game similar to Russian roulette: among a batch of delicious cream puffs, exactly one is a dud that’s spicy or bitter.
You can put anything in the dud, like mustard or wasabi—anything goes! It’s a lively party game, but if you’re planning it, be sure to check for participants’ allergies and keep the dud’s filling to mild irritants so everyone can laugh and enjoy it to the end.
Balloon Popping Game
The “Balloon Stomp Game” is a game where all participants tie an inflated balloon to their ankle and try to pop each other’s balloons.
Since it requires a fairly large space and a good number of players, it’s recommended for events like Christmas parties with many children.
You can’t just run away forever—go ahead and step on your friends’ balloons and pop them! As long as the children are old enough not to cry from the popping sounds, they should have a great time!
