A farewell message delivered by graduating children to their parents and the attendees.

It’s almost always presented at the graduation ceremony, isn’t it? The children might create a message together as a class, or each child may think about what they want to express and present it individually.

Parents in the audience sit up straight, and as they watch the children face forward and speak their messages, tears inevitably begin to flow.

Every school has its own approach, so please feel free to use this article as a reference and incorporate ideas that work for you!

The idea we’re introducing this time is to create a message DVD from the teachers to the graduating children.

Using photos of events held at the preschool and scenes from their daily lives, you can look back on memories, and then record messages from the teachers addressed to the graduates.

Not only the homeroom teachers, but also the principal, head teacher, lunch staff, and even the current students—everyone who was involved with the graduates—can share messages.

This will help the children feel how many people loved and supported them as they grew.

It’s a truly wonderful idea, so please consider using it as a reference.

A DVD message from current students who can’t attend the graduation ceremony on the day is such a lovely idea for the graduating children.

It’s perfect for children who want to say “thank you” to the older boys and girls who were kind to them.

When making the DVD, it’s recommended to decide in advance what kind of message each class wants to convey and how long each message should be, so the content feels cohesive.

Creating message cards or drawing pictures to share their messages could also become a memorable keepsake.

“Until the Day We Meet Again” – Dai Hirai

Graduation certificates are often read aloud at preschool graduation ceremonies.

The content is usually the same, and after the first child, it’s sometimes abbreviated as “same as above.” However, the idea I’d like to introduce this time is for the principal to write a handwritten message for each child.

A message that is unique and addressed only to that child is one of a kind, and I believe it makes for a very heartwarming and delightful graduation certificate for both the children and their parents.

For your first graduation ceremony, please consider adopting this heartwarming graduation certificate idea!

In many cases, children graduate from small-scale daycare centers at age two and then transfer to a new daycare or kindergarten.

Here are some words of gratitude from graduating children that are perfect for a warm, homey graduation ceremony.

Parents, too, may recall their feelings when their child first enrolled and reflect on their growth, making it a moving ceremony.

Depending on the number of graduates, it’s also nice to divide the message into parts spoken individually and parts spoken by everyone together.

Try to keep the wording simple.

Since children develop at different paces at this age, even just watching them bow or wave can let you feel how much they’ve grown.

In the graduation ceremony program, I believe there is a moment when a representative parent delivers a thank-you speech.

Standing at the podium in front of the teachers and children to express your gratitude can be very nerve-wracking.

A child’s graduation is also a major milestone for their parents.

The memories of raising your child together with the nursery teachers, watching over the children’s growth, sharing worries and joys—these are treasures for parents as well.

I hope you will convey those feelings at the graduation ceremony.

It’s not an experience that everyone gets to have, so why not take on the challenge?

When children think of a teacher, they usually picture their homeroom teacher.

However, the words of the principal—who has been watching over the entire school—may reach them with a different kind of impact.

Even though the principal isn’t with them every day, children might feel, “The principal was really paying attention to us,” or “I didn’t realize it, but that makes me happy.” It can bring them a new kind of joy.

At the graduation ceremony, please have the principal offer the children a warm, heartfelt message.
