Here’s a kiss-themed song that’ll lift your spirits! It’s “Ima sugu Kiss Me,” the smash hit by the rock band LINDBERG, formed in 1988.

This track was their second single, released in February 1990.

It became a hot topic as the theme song for the Fuji TV Monday 9 p.m.

drama “Sekai de Ichiban Kimi ga Suki!” which aired in 1990.

Believe it or not, this song is also used as the tune that plays when you hit the jackpot on a pachinko machine! Its catchy lyrics that make you want to sing along and its upbeat groove are sure to boost your mood.

Tearful KissSazan Ōrusutāzu

Released in 1992, Southern All Stars’ “Namida no Kiss” is their 31st single.

It served as the theme song for the 1992 TBS Friday drama “Zutto Anata ga Suki Datta,” whose finale recorded a 34.1% viewership rating.

It also drew attention for being the first time they wrote a theme song specifically for a drama.

The song became a long-running hit among Southern All Stars’ catalog, winning the 34th Japan Record Award.

When you think of “kiss,” this might be the song that comes to mind for many people.

It’s a love song beloved across generations.

Do you know the artist KOH+? It’s pronounced “Kou Plus,” and it’s actually a music duo formed by Ko Shibasaki and Masaharu Fukuyama.

They originally came together to create the theme song for the Fuji TV drama Galileo, but the response snowballed—they went on to handle the theme song for the Galileo movie as well, and eventually even performed on the Tokyo Dome stage.

The song, which feels like it brings together all the best elements of Japanese pop, was written and composed by Masaharu Fukuyama.

His skill in making love the theme and putting a playful, pop “kiss” at center stage is truly impressive.

It’s a highly recommended track.

“Give Me a Psychotic Kiss” was released in 2014 as Gesu no Kiwami Otome’s major-label debut single.

The title really sticks with you, doesn’t it? The song was written specifically for the 2014 TV drama “Around 30-chan: Uncensored,” drawing inspiration from the original manga and, based on the image of the drama’s lead actress, Dan Mitsu, the lyrics were written from a woman’s perspective.

The band’s one-of-a-kind world explodes with freshness here—it’s addictively unique.

Valentine KissKunikyo Sayuri

This is Sayuri Kokusho’s debut single, who was member No.

8 of Onyanko Club.

The way the lyricist Yasushi Akimoto lightly renders “kiss” as “kissu” really shows his skill.

Yui Ogura and Watarirouka Hashiritai 7 led by Mayu Watanabe have also covered this song, and it’s definitely one you’ll hear around the chocolate counters during Valentine’s season.

The lyrics, which capture a maiden’s heart—turning feelings that can’t be conveyed with chocolate into a kiss—are pure and charming.

The B-side, “Koi wa Ring Ring Ring,” is considered a divine track among fans, a true classic.

A kiss song that gives you the same flutter as a secret kiss is Mr.Children’s “Kurumano Naka de Kakurete Kiss Shiyou” (“Let’s Hide in the Car and Kiss”).

It’s included on their 1992 album “Kind of Love.” The song was inspired by the album cover of the British band Fairground Attraction, which shows a couple kissing in a car.

Within its gentle, mellow melody, it captures the thrill of a kiss—and the excitement of not being seen by anyone.

It was released in 2001 as BoA’s second single in Japan.

The song was used in a commercial for Kanebo’s “T’estimo,” and its sharp choreography and powerful vocals drew a lot of attention.
