Only YouUchida Yuki

“Only You” was released in 1995 as Yuki Uchida’s third single.

It’s a track where Uchida’s composed vocals intertwine well with Tetsuya Komuro’s melodious composition.

The song was used in a commercial for Lotteria.

CRAZY GONNA CRAZYTRF

Released in 1995, this is TRF’s eighth single.

When it comes to Komuro-produced music from the 1990s, it’s no exaggeration to say TRF defined the era, churning out explosive hits one after another.

The unit name TRF is said to derive from “TK Rave Factory,” a name given by Avex’s Masato Matsuura.

This song epitomizes the peak of Komuro’s music era and was also TRF’s best-selling CD single.

Joy to the loveAAA

Released in 2015, this track is included on globe’s special cover album.

It’s a cover by AAA of globe’s second single, originally released in 1995.

The song features a hallmark of globe’s early debut-era style: a combination of high-tempo beats and rap, complemented by a calm, composed vocal.

As with TM NETWORK, it conveys the sense that this is a song Mr.

Komuro himself wanted to sing.

Hanataba, the second single by Kie Kitano—which also served as the ending theme for the Nippon TV network program Sukkiri!!—was released in 2010.

Kitano’s sincere, unadorned vocals are the song’s greatest charm, in this piece written and composed by Tetsuya Komuro.

Released in 2001, this song is by a collaborative unit of Ayumi Hamasaki and KEIKO.

It was one of the tracks planned by Tetsuya Komuro and Masato Matsuura as part of a charity project in response to the September 11 attacks in the United States.

According to accounts, the unit’s pairing was freely chosen, and Ayumi Hamasaki personally selected KEIKO.

At her own request, Hamasaki wrote the lyrics.

BOY MEETA GIRLPrizmmy☆

Released in 2013, this is Prizmmy☆’s seventh single.

The original song was released by TRF in 1994, and Prizmmy☆’s cover stays very close to the original.

Listening to TRF’s songs from that era makes me feel nostalgic for Komuro’s music.

While it has been rearranged, I feel that one hallmark of the Komuro sound is that those tracks from back then still feel like good, modern-sounding music today.
