Blue HabitatKitanitatsuya

Tatsuya Kitani’s masterpiece “Aono Sumika.” While he has many hit numbers, this song is among his most popular.
One of its challenging aspects is the repeatedly used falsetto.
Even the fairly wide vocal range alone makes it a difficult piece, but on top of that, it features sudden rises and drops in pitch.
The switch between falsetto and chest voice in the chorus is especially hard, so if you’re confident in your pitch control, definitely give it a try.
Blue and SummerMrs. GREEN APPLE

Personally, I think this is arguably the most difficult song by Mrs.
GREEN APPLE.
It goes down smoothly when you listen to it, so it’s easy to assume you could sing it without trouble, but once you try, the fast tempo and pitch make a lot of people lose their way.
The song itself is a summer staple where exhilaration and melancholy intersect.
In karaoke, it’s a rewarding challenge that tests your overall ability—range, tempo, and expressiveness.
“Ao to Natsu” has a different feel in both the first and second verses, giving the impression that there are many songs within a single track.
The vocal range is, of course, wide—D#3 to E5—and the intensity ramps up toward the end with a flurry of high notes.
Momentum matters, but choosing where to switch to falsetto is also key.
Tackle each melody one by one.
Let’s practice as summer approaches!
Walking with youNovelbright

It’s a pretty challenging song that jumps straight into the chorus without any kind of intro right from the start.
It’s uptempo and very band-like, so it looks cool if you can pull it off! The overall vocal range is G3–E5, and the melody has a lot of sharp ups and downs.
The vibe of the A and B sections in verse 1 and verse 2 changes a bit, too.
There’s just a lot to memorize, honestly (lol).
Even if you breeze through the first verse, a lot of people might stumble on the second.
My students actually started by memorizing the English lyrics at the beginning of verse 2.
Also, when there are sections with lots of words, try keeping time with your hands while you sing.
There’s almost no chance to rest in this song, so it’s pretty tough, but if you tackle it melody by melody, you’ll definitely be able to sing it.
Robinsonsupittsu

This is Spitz’s 11th single overall, released in April 1995.
Reportedly selling over 1.62 million copies, it was the band’s biggest hit.
In the 1990s—when factors like “being sung a lot at karaoke” and “having a chorus melody that’s clear and easy to remember” were considered crucial for a song to become a hit—Robinson could certainly be called an easy-to-remember, easy-to-sing track in that sense.
That said, if you can reproduce vocalist Kusano’s resonant, soaring high tones heard here at karaoke, you’ll absolutely draw everyone’s attention.
Sing it out with confidence and show off your skills!
The night is faintly aglow.EVE

Eve, who enjoys immense popularity in the utaite community, has a strikingly unique voice—sleek and glossy yet somehow childlike.
Among his songs, the one I especially recommend is Yoru wa Honoka.
You might find the falsetto in the chorus challenging, but it isn’t significantly harder than a typical high-range song.
The real tricky part is the low notes right after the chorus; very few male singers can deliver this section with the minimum required volume.
If you’re confident in your falsetto technique and lower register, definitely give it a try.

FAKE LANDFAKE TYPE.

A super distinctive rap that depicts a theme park where madness and pleasure swirl! If you can pull it off at karaoke, you’ll feel like the true ruler of entertainment.
It’s a 2021 release.
“FAKE LAND” is a song one of my students used to sing, and I was impressed, thinking, “Wow, their diction is so quick!” It really prioritizes rhythm and accent! It’s not pure rap—there are song-like parts too—so even if you’re not confident with rap, I think you can enjoy singing it all the way through.
Of course, I memorized it while teaching lessons as well, so listening repeatedly and singing along is key! If the fast lyrics make it hard to catch the words, I recommend slowing the playback speed on YouTube.
INZMNumber_i

Number_i is an idol group supported by women nationwide.
In stark contrast to their King & Prince era, they’ve gained popularity with a music style centered on hip-hop and R&B.
Among Number_i’s tracks, the one I especially recommend as a high-difficulty piece is INZM.
This work is rooted in hip-hop and features extremely challenging flows.
While the vocal line itself is simple, it demands a strong sense of rhythm, so very few people can handle it solo.
Definitely consider adding it to your repertoire.
